Junior and Senior events will be on Peacock, lower levels streamed on USFS YouTube.

Best of luck to all!

Peacock is streaming the Junior and Senior events and the tiles are up! There are 2 tiles missing and they are the Junior RD and Senior RD.

Deych/Hu took a pretty big fall during their lift in the Jr RD. He was holding his head as he came off the ice and was given an icepack which he placed against his forehead/temple while they were waiting for the scores. Later on, the announcer asked for his parents to go to the information area, so it wouldn't surprise me if they wind up withdrawing as he may have a pretty serious concussion.

Peals are looking improved - not sure if it's better costuming or training regimen but Elliana is looking leaner than in past seasons.

Flores/Jepsen - I cannot even try to describe what I just saw with their RD. Very odd - even for the '90s.

ETA - second group starts with the Mullens both biffing their twizzles - she was bobbling all over the place per usual and he lost his balance & went down.

I have questions about the Kartashov coaching team... They're skating to the score from "Oklahoma" and they use the Overture, an instrumental version of "People Will Say We're In Love", a vocal version of "Surrey With the Fringe on the Top" and then a piece I didn't recognize for the end. So, my assumption has to be they're portraying Laurie & Curly which is a choice for a brother-sister team, especially when they could have easily used "Oh What A Beautiful Mornin'" and "Oklahoma" as two of the selections instead and avoided the obvious romantic songs.

Also, we talk about Romeo & Juliet mashups of all the major scores being used in the junior & senior ranks... Lukanin/O'Brien gave us a mashup of Wizard of Oz/The Wiz/Wicked for their FD. Props I guess to her mom & their coaches for finding a different story that has multiple musical interpretations/iterations to mashup into one program, lol.

"6-7" made its appearance in the Kiss n Cry at the Dance finals. A lot of kids were doing the 6-7 hand movement.

One team's score for their dance was 67.xx. They got a big kick out of that, lol.

The female partner in one team demonstrated to this old fogey how it can be so annoying. She "6-7-6-7-6-7-6-7"ed ad infinitum in a loud voice while they were waiting for scores. I think her coach might have told her to knock it off, but she kept going.

Uh-oh, something seems to have gone wrong and Deych/Hu stopped partway through their FD. I'm working so wasn't paying a lot of attention. Did anyone see what happened?

They stopped after a long and well-executed dance spin. He is blinking and holding his head. Going over to the referees.

Now going over to their coach. He got a drink of water. More blinking and head-holding. Skating around silently.

Back to the referees. She has hands on hips. More skating around.

They had really been doing so well in this program. I did not see if he said anything to her before they stopped.

Music picking up again! Audience applause.

Program resumes.

Rotational spin no problem. Strong finish.

They're still skating around in circles, apparently trying to decide what to do. Yikes. Oh, looks like they're going to try to finish ...

Carhart's dress is gorgeous. Oh, and they're skating to "And the Waltz Goes On"! I'm enjoying this one!

Not watching either since today is an in-office day for me but both the referee and the coaches should have pulled him off the ice from the sound of it. The replay should be up by my lunch break and I'll probably rage about this as I see it for myself.

ETA - I get them wanting to make it to Nats, but making it to Nats isn't the deciding factor in JGP assignments next season - that would be Dallas Classic and LPIDI. Much better to heal up fully now.

Carhart and Bledsoe seem well-matched. I would have preferred a "lighter" piece from them this time around. In a few years they will be more equipped for heavy classical music.
