I don't think Sarah doesn't understand the scores, I think she's disappointed with herself because she knows she can skate better than that and has, even earlier in the season at Lombardia.

I read something about how she really loves classical music but her mother thought she should try this to stretch herself. I say mom should recuse herself and Sarah should get a nice powerful classical piece that can help do some of the work for her until she's developed her presentation.

On my last flight I saw a flight attendant scold someone telling them they cannot watch that and shut it off. I really wanted to know what it was.

As I recall she kept her jacket on during the warm up. Maybe she doesn't like her dress either.

I'm impressed how those voluminous sleeves squash down under the jacket.

As for costume/music choice - the first time I saw Josefin Taljegard's Joker costume and then program I was so full of WTF - but in that case her performance won me over. It wasn't until much later that I saw the film and both costume and choreography made so much sense.

Didn't she try Firebird? That's a powerful piece and while she didn't lay an egg, it really didn't go anywhere.

It would be better if it didn't combine light blue lace, yellow frills down the center like it's a 1970s tuxedo shirt, a green sash, and a pink and yellow skirt. but yes, smaller sleeves would likely help with jump rotations. Can't say whether that would be authentic to the movie because I haven't seen it.

Honestly, she gave NOTHING in Firebird and I thought that from the start. Nothing. At least she's making small attempts this year. Still not anywhere near elite level.

Malinina also did the same thing in 1998 looking down the entire short program.

Maybe she can see what a choreographer like Lori can do for her? I think this is much less to do with the actual programs but how the skater is skating the programs. She needs someone to show her the way.
