I will be more focused on Nebelhorn, especially since there are no Canadians competing here.

Ted & Mark talking about Oberstdorf, Nebelhorn Trophy, and yesterday's CDN Men results during the warm-up for the 2nd group :D Who knew that Ted won once at a Nebelhorn event (back when they still had to do compulsory figures)??

Whoa! Just checked it out on Wikipedia - and it's been exactly 50 years! Ted did, indeed, win Nebelhorn in 1975!

Kim, H.

3z fall, 3r-2t I'd review the loop, 3s pitched forward, 3f fall, etc. think she could use her knees more and gain more power in her stroking

Johnson's arms over the head jumps are not working for her today :(

Both US girls had a really bad day but I assume they were sent here because they can do much better

Murakami

nice 3s-3t, showing from real grit to pull these landings out, but probably carrots coming her way, good interpretation and skating skills

Lengyelova, A.

there's a lovely refinement to her movement, 3z-3t in second half but not enough gas in the tank--underrotated and rather suspicious-looking rocking edge into lutz entry, pulled off 3z-2a-2a, good skate

Kalugina

bringing the quad, 4s was good (of course, she's actually a Russian skater), good spring into her jumps, fall on 3z, losing stamina midway through program, and basics could use some smoothing out

Oka

trying to rise from the SP mistake, 3z-3t nice, she's skating a little high in the knees which you don't often see from Japanese skaters, 3a fall, good solo loop and flip, good 3f-2a-2a, some unique and interesting choreography, looking much more relaxed and free after the big jumps are over

Kim, Yuseong

landed the 3a but likely short, some of her combo jumps are tiny, but she is getting it done, nice arms in performance, steady competitor, Titanic's really having a resurgence this season, eh?

I have heard Titanic WAY too many times this morning. But that was a nice skate by Yuseong.

Joo

Gotta love these lower-ranked Korean girls going for it to play spoiler at their events, great 3z-3t, good lift up into her jumps and secure landings

Shifrin

a little bit off today on her landings and then popping. Definitely think gold is gone, but will she stay on podium

Medals up next.

Wang unlucky to not get the bronze, IMHO.

Shifrin lucky to not have any under-rotation calls on her jumps. I wonder where the Technical controller is from? ... :COP:

Truly atrocious shameful calling - they really should investigate. If Sofia was a Japanese or Korean skater her TES would have dropped 10 points. Albert Zaydman needs a suspension.

Zaydman was the controller. The TC doesn't make the calls, that's the TS. The controller only steps in if the two TS can't agree on something. The TC is there to review the calls made and make sure they are accurate (ex: a triple doesn't get called a double) and the rules are followed.
