The Dance Hall 12: Boston Tea Dance Party

Omfg…. Did Maya Usova really become an advocate for smokers’ rights (the right to smoke inside)?

Girl, I know you were known for blowing the smoke from your Marlboros towards Oksana Grishuk’s face, but come on now.
Adam’s reaction to smokers’ rights is the best thing about the Dance Lore episodes. And I say that as someone who LOVES the Dance Lore episodes.

The entry list for the Quebec summer dance event. (Aug. 7-10)

If both teams show up & skate both portions of the event (which often doesn't happen), it would be the first head-to-head between Fabbri & Ayer and Lauriault & Le Gac this season.

Reed & Ambrulevicius are currently listed as well.

Entry list for seniors at The Dallas Classic:

Includes the Mullens and Ichilov & Nosovitsky.

RD is tomorrow.

Having just written that, I've gotta say it's seems rather unlucky that this Olympic season is the lucky number 13. (If we were at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland, we would skip over "row" 13 and go right to 14 for better fortune).

Me too. Nothing topped that moment in a series that had nothing but high moments so far.

There does need to be one correction though. When they were talking about 2002, they misidentified the singer of “I Will Survive”. They said it was sung by Donna Summer. Someone needs to tell them that it was actually song by Gloria Gaynor and that the version :babspmm1: used was a Eurovision-esque cover by Hermes House Band.

It's a changing-of-the guard season for Junior Dance.

Jr. World Results

1. Tali/Lafornara moved to seniors
2. Wolfkostin/Tsarevski aged out again
3. Grimm/Sativskiy split
4. Pidgaina/Koval
5. Fradji/Fourneaux aged out
6. Mullen/Mullen aged out
7. Aboian/Veselukhin
8. Gauthier/Thieren aged out again
9. Nguyen/Giang aged out
10. Perrier/Gianesini/Blanc Klaperman
11. Beznosikova/Leleu
12. Zhender/Sieber aged out
13. Schubert/Remeshevskiy aged out
14. Vaclavikova/Morozov split
15. Finelli/Bucciarelli aged out
16. Kishimoto/Tamura aged out
17. Straub/Straub
18. Yucel/Pak

At first blush, Pidgaina/Koval (UKR), Aboian/Veselukhin (USA), and France's double trouble Perrier Gianesini/Blanc Klaperman and Mouaden/Bigot (not at junior worlds due to country limits, but have medaled every season they've competed on JGP) should be early front runners.

Other contenders:
Canada's Veillon/Brandys won a bronze medal on the JGP last season and should be able to fight for higher placements this year. Ilin/Cain and the Straubs both finished 4th last season on the JGP and could make the step onto the podium. The Belgian team Beznosikova/Leleu's JGP results were so-so, but a top 11 at Jr Worlds was a great finish and indicates good potential for this season. I am also keeping my eye on Yucel/Pak who had better results than I believed their skating merited and were one of the teams alleged to receive inflated scores in the Balkov judging scandal. Interested to see how they skate and where they place (and which alleged :bloc: judges are on their panels). And, of course, new pairings and newly-improved teams will also have a chance to contend.
