There was no draw. Ukraine had "producer's choice". we could have been put in first place or in last place. But the producer chose a “death spot” (this is a really famous unofficial name)for us.

Actually, there was a draw after Semi 1 and Ukraine drew “Producer’s choice” which as you say meant they could be placed anywhere in the running order. Except the producers couldn’t have put it in first place because Sweden had already drawn that position back in March.

The host country always gets drawn in a numbered position well ahead of time to avoid any accusations of bias towards the home broadcaster.

Seeing some reports of drama out there. Apparently Joost from NL took part in flag parade but was pulled from rehearsals from final show while a complaint against him is being investigated from an incident yesterday. Possibly an argument with a crew member and not because of the press conference.

The only sure fact is there is video of his equipment being pulled out on stage for rehearsal and then waved away by crew and they didn't rehearse.

No. Apparently statement from EBU is just that someone made a complaint to them about an incident from yesterday and he was pulled from rehearsal while it's investigated ?‍

The possibly bit I added was something someone put on a Eurovision forum about it being with a crew member when others were speculating it was because of some things he said at PR last night.

So it's still a mystery BUT he was pulled from rehearsals, that is the only clear fact so far.

A reporter asked Eden/Israel if they thought her participation here brought safety issues for the contest and other contestants. A member of her delegation told her she didn't have to answer that. Joost is heard saying "why not".

I won't argue he was disrespectful but I would really push back that he "more or less attacked Eden".

But the rumours are it involves an altercation with the stage manager.

Although it is possible EBU was already pissed off with him because of the press conference as well because he was also asked a question there about whether he thought music really unites us all and he told them it's a question he should be asking the EBU. I think it is clear he is one of the artists who doesn't think Israel should be allowed to compete this year and he isn't hiding that.

Yeah I am reading he was asked to apologise and put out a statement, he refused and is likely to be DQ.

Although I would hold off on believing that right away about the DQ until it is announced.

I never said it didn’t matter at all. On the other hand, one country has to sing in the second position. All of those countries you listed above were not ever in the conversation for winning no matter if they sang second or 23rd.

She was given a “difficult” question and the moderator said she didn’t have to answer. Klein said “why not?”. If you think that is atttacking then…..

I am sure that if this competition had been a year ago, then Joost would not have had any problems with Eden and her russian past and present. What a convenient double standard everyone has.

As announced by the EBU, The investigation into the incident with the Dutch artist in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest is still ongoing.
Discussions are also taking place between the EBU and AVROTROS, the Dutch participating broadcaster. While the investigation continues the EBU has decided that Joost Klein will not perform during Dress Rehearsal 2 of the competition which is voted on by juries in the 37 participating countries. His performance from Semi Final 2 will be used instead.

And? What prevented them from putting Croatia second and Ukraine 23rd? I am 110% sure that they would never put Croatia second.
