2024 US Nationals Pairs Podium Poll

Who will medal?

Honestly other than a healthy Chan/Howe, I have no idea. I feel like it will be a free-for-all on whoever skates the cleanest. After Chan/Howe, no other team has a clear advantage to me. I would say Kam/O'Shea because Danny is so strong, but they haven't had the best of performances. The rest are a toss-up because they all have the potential. I voted but I am not at all sure of my choices except C/H.

Well, the podium has 4 spots on it, so I don't think it's unreasonable to expect that some combination of McBeath/Parkman, Efimova/Mitrofanov, Liu/Nagy and Kam/O'Shea are going to fill the 3 spots left beyond wherever Chan/Howe place.

Dark horses for the podium would be Martins/Bedard and Plazas/Fernandez, IMO, based on how they've both competed so far this season.

Chelsea and Balasz got the bronze at skate America? Trying to remember, they have some competition next week at NHK but if they were to medal maybe they can get to the final

Yes, they got bronze at SkAm. If they win NHK then they'll qualify for the GPF. 2nd and they might, but it would depend on the rest of the results as well as a possible tiebreaker with Pavlova/Sviatchenko.

Yeah, I even did last season. Of all the US pairs ladies can’t land Jumps she’s one of them. Lol.

Plus, that will most likely be their first competition of the season, while all the others will have ones under their belts

I like them, but I skew towards other teams

NHK is stacked. There are four good teams plus also my husband and Anastasia. I don’t know if I can go through another pairs discipline on the Grand Prix circuit… I may have to not watch that one next week.
