US Figure Skating Television Schedule for 2021-2022

My provider says that it’s the software and the older boxes don’t have the RAM necessary to run the new software.
question since I know you're watching Peacock...it says pairs will be shown at 1:35 am. That can't be right. NBCSN doesn't start until 10:00 which means the first flight of pairs would be not shown? I may have to cue up a VPN to watch the ISU feed. I'm hoping that is a time error.

On screen says 9:35 Eastern
Jackie Wong‘s calendar says 9:18

@muffinbiscuit asked in another thread:
When will the long programs from Skate Canada be shown on US TV?
NBC showed 9 women's & 5 men's short programs on their 2-hour broadast today and AFAIK nothing else from Skate Canada is scheduled to be broadcast on regular TV (Tanith White closed the show by saying the free skates would be streamed on Peacock).

However:
If you get the Olympic Channel, all events will be run each night from November 1-4 at 8p-11p EST. Tape delay but at least can watch it all if you don't have Peacock.

I note that my Olympic channel has 6-8 broadcasts scheduled for the coming week from Skate Canada. I'm assuming these will be from Peacock. So far there is only a description for the first 2 broadcasts, which are Rhythm Dance and Free Dance.

I was disappointed that NBC scheduled their broadcast for a time when they knew the free skates would not have taken place yet.

...and BOY, did they miss a competition for the ages! Furthermore, it would have helped to introduce the current US Women’s situation to the general US public. Or maybe that’s the challenge...trying to market US women’s current status to Jane & Joe Public?

Live NASCAR is far more exciting than FS ;)

It's too early in the season for Karen Chen. She seems to peak around Nationals/Worlds.

I wasn’t referring to Karen Chen. What I meant was that NBC has a problem with marketing the US women in general...and it’s the Women’s discipline that brings in viewers. No chance of a US woman winning the Olympic gold = less interest in figure skating among the casual, once-every-four-years public, which has $$$ implications. Those sorts of Middle-American TV-set viewers prefer their NASCAR.

I disagree. I live in an area that’s always had support for figure skating and you can see the meh factor. The girls are aspiring to be soccer players or X-Games superheroes, not ice princesses. But the boys seem to think that FS is cool thanks to the current crop of men. NBC knows their demographics, which is why we see the men in prime time when they have any input.

Attention Tanith lovers. SCI dance is on the Oly Channel tonite. Rhythm at 8, free at 9:30. Both times EDT (the US is still on summer time).

Checked my Comcast on-screen TV guide. The Oly Channel’s line-up of SkCan repeats:

Today - dance
Tomorrow - women
Wed - pairs
Thurs - men

For the singles disciplines, the SPs show appears to be the same NBC “recap” from last Saturday (Men & Women SPs combined)

Check your local listing for times. Here in the eastern zone, they all begin at 8pm.

Thanks for this thread.

I haven't caught all the GP events, but had been enjoying Peacock Premiums commentator- less coverage. (Though I do like Tanith.)

But it's a terribly glitchy app on Roku. Sometimes on an android tablet too.

Too bad that's it for live & complete GP coverage.

Try downloading it again. I have the most current version on Roku and it’s working well if you can get past Peacock’s less than friendly navigation.

Tanith and Charlie White commentating together again on the Olympic channel, this time from Italy,

I don't have the Olympic Channel but came across the top 3 free dance videos -- featuring the Whites -- uploaded by NBC Sports on their YT channel and have posted the links (geoblocked outside the USA) in the GP Italy subforum in Kiss & Cry: https://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/threads/2021-gran-premio-ditalia-videos.108886/#post-6105418

Shoot, I forgot about this. Will they archive the Tanith and Charle versions on Peacock, anyone know?

I don't know if Italy is there. Looks like others were streamed, see @Sylvia's post above

It should follow with first time viewing after the remaining GPs,
RD & FD dance is on Mondays at 8pm on Olympic Channel.

Charlie and Tanith are fabulous!

Thanks! I was hoping for the whole show with them, but if it's not available, oh well.
Olympic Channel on Sunday, Nov. 14 Central time:
10:00 PM Grand Prix of Italy. Figure skating. Grand Prix Rhythm Dance (repeat)
11:30 PM Grand Prix of Italy. Figure skating. Grand Prix Free Dance (repeat)

@Sylvia, thanks, I have Grand Prix RDs and FDs picked up as party of my To Do List, and hadn't noticed that it was on a Sunday, not a Monday.

And Nathan is to thank for that. Kind of like how NBC changed the women's UsOpen final in 2001 (?) to primetime on Saturday night for the first time since it was the first Slam final between Venus and Serena. Sometimes the men's competition is just more exciting and interesting and attracts more viewers. So they get prime time.

I'm not even sure that nationalism is as prevalent anymore. I root for Russian ladies over Americans. I prefer Kolyada's skating to the Americans, including Jason. I'm interested in stars from other foreign countries. It would be a shame if Americans tuned out Womens just because it's all Russia/Korea/Japan. I'd say that I'd give Americans more credit than that, but after the deplorable's treatment of Simon Biles I just think they are full of ugliness and would complain about anyone/thing.

I'm fine with Men in primetime. Preferably for all though!

Anyone watch? I forgot and was wondring how many (singles only?) full programs were shown yesterday?

Today's NBC broadcast/DVR reminder:
Sunday, Nov. 14 from 4-6 p.m. (Eastern) - NHK Trophy Recap

NBC is showing from NHK Trophy (editing in names as shown on broadcast): Zhou's SP; FS of Glenn, Liu, You, Kawabe, Sakamoto' FS of Mishina/Galliamov; FD coming up then Men's FS...

Tara L. & Terry G. are the commentators (Johnny's in Moscow on assignment - he interviewed Anna Shcherbakova for NBC Sports yesterday).

So they show M/G during the 'break' between women and men instead of the USA medal-winning dance team? Maybe they'll show C/B at the end.

Thankful for the OC!
