NoIs Alysa Liu not at SA?
I think Kaori Sakamoto is going to have something to say about that.Russian sweep.

Usually the US (and most countries) include their best skaters at their GP. So I am surprised by this.
I am VERY much looking forward to Ksenia Sinitsova. She seems to be the only one from CSKA to have any love/support. It would be a dream if she medaled. (and Daria lands a 3axel a couple times.... hehe)Russian sweep.
I really believe that Amber right now is at a crossroads: 1. She's done. Just stop. or 2. Skate like a maniac and go for three 3axels in every competition. She might be successful with her 3axels. She falls on every regular triples, so why not at least get BV for a 3a? Unless she shows USFS that she is BIGTIME, she might as well start writing her GOOD LUCK cards for the other three Americans headed to Beijing. Amber, you never were consistent and were a consistent heartbreak for us fans, but we believe in you and your skating. So for the next three months pretend you are Tonya and strong and badass. Just go for the axels. You have nothing to lose at this point. You might convince a few if you actually place at USN if you use that strategy. Can Amber triple axel her way onto the podium?
Sakamoto has been struggling a bit in her recent competitions (Japan Open FS, Japanese Regionals, Asian Open Trophy) - hopefully she will show up in Las Vegas ready to rumble.I think Kaori Sakamoto is going to have something to say about that.
Liu got invites to Skate Canada & NHK, and the USFS usually invites the National Champion to Skate America so Brady Tennell got that invite.Usually the US (and most countries) include their best skaters at their GP. So I am surprised by this.
I think the USFS strategy to separate Bradie/Alysa totally backfired on them. Of course Alysa should have been at SkAM. She's a two time National champion and really the only hope for a top 3/5 placement at Olympics. I don't think anyone at USFS is patting their backs on a job well done for this SkAm wrt women's event. It's bleak, and sort of a disaster.Liu got invites to Skate Canada & NHK, and the USFS usually invites the National Champion to Skate America so Brady Tennell got that invite.
I adore her skating, but I'm not getting my hopes up. I'll just enjoy watching her and let.the chips fall where they may.I love Miyahara's skating and really hope she can medal![]()

Lol, yep, I'm a big fan too. My affinity for trainwrecks started with Tiffany Chin and Bobek. My 49 y/o heart is not as strong anymore. I love Amber, and hope she just goes MAMA at her competitions. We can all hope...If you were in the vicinity of me I would slap you

Agree. Alysa should have been at Skate America. Back in 2016, I saw both Ashley and Gracie at SA, so there's no reason why two high-level competitors couldn't have been invited here. (BTW, Mariah Bell was at SA that year, too and she and Ashley were both on the podium). Now the US's best hope for a GP medal in the women's events has to compete in stacked events in Canada and Japan where medaling will be difficult.I think the USFS strategy to separate Bradie/Alysa totally backfired on them.
