"Return to Olympus" sounds great! But as I live in Japan, the first thought which came to me was "Did Mirai get Olympus as her sponsor?", since it's a Japanese well-known company who used to support Japanese skaters such as Mao. "Return to Mount Olympus" sounds nicer in the meaning, but "Return to Olympus" sounds cooler to me, so I vote for "Return to Olympus". I'm so proud of her to be getting back to Olympus! Hard work paid off! :respec:
Mirai´s instagram stories are so cute. And it seems her roommate is Madison H.
I love watching Mirai's IG stories! Her excitement is catching! I love the little tour she gave around her room in the Olympic Village!
Mirai really is providing the best BTS look at the Olympics. Her commentary is also the best.
Carry on... :)

Nathan has supposedly brought three pairs of skates with him, according to USFS. Mirai has 5 suitcases - wonder how many she brought?

Coach Tom Z put up the cutest Instagram story of Mirai last night. Hope this link works. She is eating this up! https://www.instagram.com/stories/coachtomz/
For those who missed Coach Tom Z's story, I'll recap it: She goes up to the mike in front of some people (reporters? USFS?) and says, "Like if you social like your journey, then like you get featured on TV, and like I want to be that athlete!" The room laughs and someone says, "You want to be featured?" and she doubles over laughing. So cute! She is in her element!

It is nice that she is able to laugh. She is relaxed and that is always helpful before a big competition. I would really like to see her in the Team competition but i am afraid they will split the dance teams and only Bradie will skate.

USA Today sports tweeted an article about Mirai - saying she's 'hungrier than ever' after being left off of the 2014 Team: https://twitter.com/usatodaysports/status/961601663885873152

And a sweet vid of Mirai's parents, who created the "Olympic Roll" in honor of their daughter! Her dad is so cute - it's easy to see where Mirai got her cuteness from! :D https://twitter.com/usatodaysports/status/961328732362305536

And in case anyone missed it, BBC News (World) tweeted about our Mirai as well!:

I was watching this and SALIVATING (a bit like this :wuzrobbed but pictudrool instead of tears)

I WANT THAT PIECE OF SUSHI SO BAD

I know right? Sounds tasty! I have a brother and sister in California (one in Los Angeles the other Oceanside). If I ever get the nerve to visit in that earthquake zone :blocjudge (California) I'll swing by Mirai's hometown to visit her parent's sushi restaurant! :D

I loved seeing her parents, and the BBC vid with Mirai saying how proud she was to represent America and "I think America loves me" made me so happy I could cry.

Years ago, I think in 2011, I was in LA for the second and last time in my life. (Well, I might go again some day but it's not a particular goal.) I went to "Japantown" and went around asking total strangers if they knew where the restaurant run by Mirai Nagasu's parents was. LOL. Nobody had a clue. I didn't realize it was in another town.

I believe USFS said somewhere they would announce the entries for the women on the 10th. This is the link to the schedule/entries: https://www.pyeongchang2018.com/en/game-time/results/OWG2018/en/figure-skating/daily-schedule.htm
I wonder if she already knows or if they're really waiting to see how the men's and pairs event shake out. I would think the suspense is killing her if she doesn't know. But based on Bradie's short-lived post, I think she probably does.

Not necessarily. Bradie may practice the short and later the long program.

"With the Shibutanis looking like they will skate the short and the free, the U.S. would likely use its second substitution in the ladies event, with U.S. champion Bradie Tennell and U.S. silver medalist Mirai Nagasu each taking a program."

I hope this is correct.

I should hope the Team Event participants were all already notified to at least give them each time to mentally prepare! Psyche themselves up for the event! :)

I hope this is so! I so want Mirai to have a chance at an Olympic medal!

Just curious who has informed the Shibutanis will skate both programs? That would surprise me when all 3 U.S teams are so strong, and when they have clearly been the worst of the 3 in the free dance this season.

Nothing is set in stone yet (eta: I assume the skaters competing in SD/SP already know). The team event deadlines are:

10 am Saturday Korea time - confirmation is due for the ladies & ice dance short program entries.
1:15 pm Sunday Korea time - confirmation for the pairs free skate.
3:30 pm Sunday Korea time - confirmation for the men's, ladies, and ice dance free skates.

NBC Olympics streamed the U.S. Ladies practice in the practice rink earlier today and Mirai two-footed her 3A and landed 3F+3T & 3Lo in her SP run through.

ETA that Mirai had at least one decent 3A attempt in practice (that was shown), landing one one foot/looked rotated [video clip was removed on Twitter due to copyright].

Karen Chen is in the team box. Is she going to skate and not Mirai? I am worried.
