And don't get me started on the Barcelona game. In fairness, I thought they would destroy us, so I would have taken 2:0 before the game, but come on... How many chances do those "strikers" need to score!? Ahhh. Ozil has been carrying them on his back all season, but why is Mertesacker even playing against Barcelona?!

(((( Xela M)))) This has been a strange season overall for the EPL and I have all but given up in this Man U team. But on the bright side Leicester fans must be over the moon!

Are you a United fan? Don't worry, Jose is coming your way. He is lurking around Manchester waiting to pounce.

I actually liked LVG as a coach before he took the United job, but I really can't understand what happened to make them play this horrifically ugly suicide-inducing football? None of LVG's other teams played this way. Holland played very attractive football under him and so did Bayern. At Bayern he was absolutely amazing at promoting youth players and Muller and Kroos are his creations. I think the material he has to work with at United is so shocking that there's nothing he can do.

This is what I fear. That it is not the coach but the players that are not up to par.

I think Jose will win the league (and maybe even the Chanpions League) with them. It's a matter of honour for him after Ferguson gave the job to Moyes instead of him. They won't play pretty, but they'll start winning under him. Jose is the only man who knows that the Premier League is actually a really easy league to win and no one knows better than him how to do it.

....and with all my love for LVG, the amount of money he spent was insane. If he can't get them into top four after spending over £250mio, he needs to go.

Do you think anyone can stop Barcelona this year? I still cannot believe what Liverpool were thinking selling Suarez?! I know he will never win the Ballon d'Or, but he's the best player in the World in my opinion without a shadow of a doubt. He completely changed the way Barcelona are playing. Messi and Neymar couldn't play together before Suarez came in. And he's one of those extremely rare stars who plays equally phenomenal for club and country. Can you compare the Uruguay team with and without Suarez? Or Liverpool with and without Suarez? Completely different teams. He changes the entire manner of the game.

Suarez and his habit of biting opponents was still on everyone's mind when he was sent packing. My guess is they didn't want to deal with the negative PR if they kept him. As for Barca, I have hopes for Bayern beating them this time around! :cheer2:

Well, that clearly was not a very smart move. Liverpool won't be nearing that top 4 anytime soon, unless Klopp brings in a bunch of Germans. All the negative PR in the world can't change the fact that Suarez is a genius and Liverpool were insane to sell him.

I had high hopes for Bayern at the beginning of the season, but Pep's ManCity antics have destabilised them and I can't see them beating Barca in the beastly form they are in.

If any comfort to Liverpool fans, they have plenty of company this season. LOL I am so totally at a loss to explain what is going in at Chelsea!? At least Arsenal is in the top three with a realistic shot at the title. As for my boys, I will always love them but I can barely stand to watch them anymore.

Chelsea is easy to explain... the fans are blaming the 3 rats (Costa, Fabregas and Hazard) and I suspect Terry had a lot to do with it as well. They just stopped playing because they wanted Jose out. As soon as he was sacked, they miraculously started playing again (well, Costa has - there's no hope for Hazard). The only decent player (I mean personality-wise) Chelsea ever had playing for them was Drogba - a true professional in every sense of the word. The rest are real snakes, especially Fabregas. No wonder Wenger didn't want him back.

The other theory is... that Jose was doing everything he possibly could to get the sack because of the astronomical compensation Abramovich had to pay him (he is also still getting a salary from Chelsea). That was my initial feeling ;)

The politics of football! LOL I wouldn't doubt all of that is true and I wish if Man U is truly interested in Mourinho that they would get on with it already. All this speculation is driving me crazy!

Don't worry, the job is his. Last time Sir Alex gave the excuse that he couldn't reach Jose, which is why Moyes was given the job (right... ;) ). This time Jose is staying in Manchester and he is not going to let that job slip. He is the next United manager no doubt. Also, there is literally no one else. Pep and Ancelotti are taken, so Jose is the only one who can take over, unless of course they give it to Giggs

I'm so glad there are some Premier league fans on here! Football (soccer) is my obsession, but I never ventured into this thread because I thought it was mainly a discussion about MLS.

Nobody cares about MLS! I'd rather watch my local Champions League before I watch them. I hope Leicester win the League. I kind of like Arsenal but they are chokers. Barca will probably win everything and I agree about Suarez. (In fact I can't believe he was ever at Liverpool, they play nothing like him). Together the 'three brothers' as I call them will win everything. Real has my sympathies and I 100% agree with Ronaldo. Right now he's the only player in that team.

No comment on the Arsenal v Tottenham game today... Arsenal are teamtrainwreck personified. Another flipping red card in a league-deciding match?! I'm happy for Ranieri. He's a great coach and it appears his players, who were all probably cheaper than Ronney's hair, are the only ones who want to win the league.
