One of the articles said the FBI said they were not interested in destroying FIFA; They hoped by prosecuting the guilty they would help save FIFA for the honest members. I guess I would like to know is if there is any honesty in the organization. Is there someone in FIFA who could make it into an honorable organization?

Oh jeez---I did see where a French journalist said that the people in his home country don't know about "The Onion" and he would use it to deceive them which does not surprise me in the least. I think we need a new awards system:
Sleaziest Athlete in the world: Lance Armstrong
Sleaziest Sporting Governing Body: FIFA
Maybe we can give them out like the Razzies awards awful films...

And what about people we consider above reproach? Remember Johann Olav Koss the speed skater from Norway? It has been awhile since I've heard his name mentioned but from what I've read he always had a reputation for honesty and doing things the proper way. Who would you appoint to FIFA if you had the chance? Where are the Johann Olav's in their world?

I hope to see him drink that nasty lime Budweiser because if he does that means sponsors are dropping FIFA!

I don't drink alcohol but if Budweiser dumps FIFA I'll drink one of their lime beer concoction.

SEPP is out and I feel like singing "ding dong the witch is dead!"

Blatter to Swiss TV on Friday: "Why would I step down? That would mean I recognise that I did wrong."

Shouldn't the job go to Prince Ali since he was the runner up and the election was less than a week ago?!

Ali was a candidate because UEFA knew he couldn't win. Now, it will all change ! You'll see.

According to Bloomberg Prince Ali is still interested in the job and would accept if offered the position.

And he is apparently being investigated by the US officials as part of the corruption investigations:

I think it is becoming patently obvious that he has some hand in the shenanigans that have been going on in FIFA. Several sources have said that the reason he wasn't taken into custody last week was because he was Swiss and could be 'spoken' to at any time by the Swiss authorities. But the question is who can be trusted to sort out this mess.

It should be pretty evident to anyone who follows figure skating that this is the exact way the ISU is run. Right down to making Australia, Morocco, Brazil, Grenada, United Arab Emirates, and such countries full members with equal voting privileges, bribing them and securing their votes. The next head of the ISU is a convicted cheat, for God's sake, and the current head is at least as big a fraud as Blatter.

If FIFA is a criminal cartel enriching its leadership through bribery and corruption, surely the same thing can be said about the ISU.

Hate to be a wet blanket but Septic Blatter is not going anywhere until at least December.

P.S.
Forgot to mention that one of the leading men in line for the top job is Michel Platini. The same Platini who voted for Qatar 2022 and whose son now works for the Qatari government.

Going back to John Oliver's original FIFA report in 2014 the thing that shocked and amazed me was that FIFA had their legal jurisdiction at the World Cup. So when two thieves were caught in the act at the World Cup match FIFA courts arrested them on Wednesday, charged them on a Thursday and sentenced them to fifteen years each on a Friday. That still sounds INSANE to me and whatever they were stealing pales in comparison to the crimes of FIFA officials. And now we have all of these men dying in Qatar who are forced to remain in Qatar and continue building stadiums. I hope someone calls a halt to everything concerning that particular bid.

That explains why FIFA didn't hold off on the election last Friday and that Blatter wanted time to set up his successor. So getting voted in gives him 6 months to make more deals and hope that it will be business as usual going forwards :(
