Here's an interesting gem that has just been posted; Gaby Seyfert's complete LP from the 1968 Europeans in Vasteras, Sweden where she tried to do triple loop. I had heard that she also 'landed' it at the 1967 and 69 Europeans but never tried it at Worlds. Seyfert was 3rd after figures here behind Maskova and Schuba and presumably tried the triple to make up the gap. She eventually finished 2nd here which is the only time she ever lost to anyone but Peggy Fleming in the years 1967 - 1970.

Of course it's hugely underrotated but many mens triple attempts from this era looked like this. Janet Lynn tried a triple salchow at the Olympics a few weeks later and made a better job of rotating it than Gaby's triple loop here, but this is the earliest attempt at a triple jump by a lady I have ever seen. There's also the old style marks being shown on the ice and Jutta Muller preening as ever for the cameras

We never had a chance to see anything like this on WWoS; so this is some of my earliest exposure to Seyfert.
She was behnd here, and had to try everything she could to win.

The combination of "power" mixed with "charm" are typical of Muller!
At the time, I didn't know that they were mother and daughter.

I loved Seyfert's skating. Thank you so much for the link.

The video description has the full translation of Pawlik's commentary.

:p It looked as rotated as some of Sarah Hughes' "triples" from 30+ years later.

:shuffle: Under next season's rules, it would still be called a 3Lp< and have a base value of 3.6 . . .

I'm pretty sure that would be marked as a 2LP. She was at least 1/2 a rotation short.

Love her powerful 2-axels!

Thank you so much for sharing the videos. Christopher was fantastic. I loved his interpretation of West Side Story. Beautiful program.

I really like this high quality clip of one of my favorite ice dance commentators, Susie Wynne & her partner Joe Druar, doing their tap dance FD at the 1990 world championships in Halifax.

They came such a long way since the 1988 Olympics. Here's their Tango OSP from there:

I wish they had not retired so soon! But the field in dance was so deep in the 1990 time frame...

Alas, the sound for 1966 was mute. Lovely performance by the Protopopovs! With a throw jump!.

I haven't read through all 32 pages of this thread, but is anyone seeing weird advertisements when they try to watch YouTube videos? It doesn't happen every time.

If you have a frequently viewed video, youtube solicits you to join their advertising program. There are numerous odd ads that then appear. Some are little stationary widget. Others are little vids. What determines what ad gets placed on what video is not clear to me.

I can't believe I am saying this . . . I just found this Jill Trenary LP :swoon:

. . . and I have no idea why Fassi had her doing conga music all those years.

There isn't any conga music in this program. I believe you're thinking of Vortex from Duke Ellington's River Suite, also used by Tiffany Chin in her 1984 SP and by Debi Thomas in her 1986 and 1987 LP.
