Yesterday, the synchro world received the most heartbreaking news that the 2020 World Synchronized Skating Championships, to be held in Lake Placid, NY, were to be cancelled due to the COVID-19 virus. We were devastated to hear this, as we know every Senior team who would be representing their country at Worlds in a few weeks were as well. It is the ultimate goal to qualify and compete at the World Championships, and the dream is to skate your programs to their full potential… to get that feeling of joy at the end??
However, we do not want what was otherwise an incredible season for Senior synchro to end on such an upsetting note. We would like to invite all the teams who were going to compete at the World Championships this year to participate in #VirtualWorlds2020! We have created a Google Drive where you can submit your favourite short and free skate from this season:

Although we may not have the Worlds experience we all wished for this season, we hope you will join us in this initiative

That's a great idea. Will you let us know when this is available - will we be able to view also?
I enjoyed the synchro competition that was on NBC Sports Gold. Wishing there was more!
