Ok everyone. Today I want to hear all about your very first Skating Lesson. Here's mine...My very first Skating lesson was back in 2007 and my coach then was a girl named Caitlin. She taught me for 8 weeks at a Learn to Skate Program. She ended up being really impressed with what I could do naturally. As for were I got, I only passed falling and recovery. So, that's my story. What about you all?

It was a group class. A lady fell down and broke her collar bone during the first 10 minutes of class. After that, the instructor wouldn't let the rest of us do anything but march or glide on two feet for the whole session of classes. I was very bored, and promoted myself to the next level for the next session.

Group class at my undergrad university...first time seeing an ice rink “live,” as I grew up in the Caribbean - San Juan, PR! Dream come true!!! All I remembered was flopping and getting up many times but having the time of my life, especially after getting the hang of forward crossovers. The ultimate college skating experience: going to Ice Disco Nights!

p.s. It was the late 1970s. Friday night Ice Disco with the mirror ball overhead. Groovy, Baby!
