Andy Grove, former CEO of Intel, died on Monday at age 79. Cause of death was not reported in the newspaper article I read, but it said that he had Parkinsons and in the mid 1990's he was diagnosed with prostate cancer.

Andy Grove made an impact on me, while I was an engineer in the semiconductor industry, working for a different company. He was the CEO of Intel at that time. I enjoyed reading his book 'Only the paranoid survive'. In his young age, Grove got through the iron curtain, and became very successful in the USA.
