NBC Network Olympics Coverage

Because they're the only U.S. team in the penultimate group.

At last night’s free dances, NBC went back to its capricious ways and chacked the first team in the penultimate group, Gilles/Poirier (with wonderful James Bond program...which I saw & filmed this morn thanks to a special Canadian friend). Then NBC almost missed the second team in the flight, Comes/Buckland, joining them a minute into the program.

I’m praying that tonight we get to see all 30 ladies SPs. I hope that we get at least three full groups on NBCSN before they switch to NBC...where the marquee event will again be Lindsey Vonn in the downhill (which will likely equate to downhill for figure skating fans).

NBCSN shows the ladies short from 8 to 10:45. That would cover all of them. That's the longest amount of time I have seen "scheduled" yet. I KNOW, that doesn't mean they won't stop at 9:30 or something. Just sayin'.......

Sorry @Susan1 but you need to check the detailed time schedule against the broadcast schedule. According to the time schedule http://www.isuresults.com/results/season1718/owg2018/OWG2018_LadiesSingleSkating_SP_TimeSchedule.pdf
NBCSN has the first 3 groups only. Groups 4 and 5 will be on NBC starting around 10:35 Eastern. They also have to fit in the women's downhill that starts at 9:00 Eastern. Depending on how many crashes there are in downhill, they may be quite a bit of overlap with the skating. I'm expecting some delays or outright chacking.

If you're setting a DVR, I'd do NBCSN from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. just in case downhill causes them to show some skating after group 3. NBC would be 10:30 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Adding that the start list for downhill shows Vonn going 7th so she will be done before group 4 starts. The interesting part will be how many of her rivals they show live. Most of the best skiers are in the first two groups, but there are some sleepers with start orders higher than 20.

Perhaps a big wind will blow up the skiing mountain & the entire Vonn downhill occurs tomorrow, a non-figure skating day? :EVILLE:

Thanks. I forgot about the resurfacing and warmups. It's pretty close though. It's said 8:00 till 10:10 or 10:15 and they stopped early. I'll be watching NBCSN till they SAY "figure skating continues on NBC". Then, if my eyes start closing, I'll hit the DVR for NBC and add time till 1 a.m. I'm glad we don't have to deal with this tomorrow. ha ha

Another great night of skating. I stuck with NBCSN through all 30 skaters. Flipped to NBC just once, to film the Group 2 warm-up, which NBCSN chacked.

I hope that we can see all 24 ladies’ LPs tomorrow night. Many beautiful and worthy skaters even in Group One (e.g., Paganini, Meite, Toth). Ditto Group Two...sassy Kailani Craine of Australia, Powerful Rajicova of Slovakia (and USA), ultra-feminine Isadora Williams of Brazil (& USA). Then come all three USA ladies in Gp 3, before the final group of skating geniuses. Will the gold go to Don Quixote or Anna Karenina?

Can someone kindly remind me of the start time for the gala?

If you have NBCSN, according to what I see, there is also supposed to be a full event replay of the Gala at 4a-6a EST on February 25 (Sunday morning). Since NBC will probably chack most of the Gala since no 'mericans (save the Shibs), I'm not expecting much on NBC primetime. I'm guessing 7-10 skaters at most.

Stupid question- When are the closing ceremonies on NBC ?( I assume they will be prerecorded to be shown in prime time)

Oh, I forgot about the possibility that NBC won't show the gala due to the relative lack of U.S. medal winners. I always look forward to the gala. I enjoy it almost more than the competition because the skaters can really just relax and be creative. I so want to see Yuzuru, V&M, and P&C especially.

uhm ... 6a on Sunday? uhhhhh nope. I'll deal with Jibber Jabber on the prime time coverage. I don't even get up that early on a work day.

I rushed home from dinner to watch the gala at 7:30 EST, but it's not on yet, at least not on my affiliate. I wonder what NBC isn't showing.

Prime Time coverage does not start until 8p. Don't expect to see the entire gala on main NBC broadcast because they will pick and choose just like they do for other skating. There are other events they will be covering as well just like on a typical night. I'm only expecting the medalists (and not even all 12 of them, mainly Gold plus Med and P&C for sure), the Shibs, and 1 or 2 crowd pleasers.
