There is a vaccine for both RSV and pneumonia. Your kids may not have been in the recommended group for getting it (old people and weak immune systems) but you can ask for it anyway. Especially since they've both gotten very sick this time.

I've already asked. They won't give it to them because it's not meant to be for their age group...I live in Germany, people really follow things by the rules here.

Ugh, sorry. It seems like if it puts them in the hospital, that would suggest their immune system isn't the strongest and that's a criteria here for getting it.
