Say, I was wondering...when you watch a Figure Skating Movie with a Competition scene..does anyone know if that is indeed a real Competition taped for the movie? in Ice Girls for eg.,,the Competition scene at the end..was that an actual Figure Skating Competition that was held and it was just taped for the Movie..anyone know? Thanks.

No. The competition scenes are not real, because the filmmakers need to show things in the competition that are in the script of the movie. The filmmakers wouldn't be sure of getting the scenes that they need if they filmed a real competition.

How are the competition scenes filmed?

At an ice rink that the filmmakers have rented. They have the actors there (skaters, coaches, judges, audience members) and they film them acting as if they were at a competition. Sometimes the skating itself will be filmed separately and then edited into the final version of the movie.
