The better question is why include those teams, some of whom have already posted on IG or remarked in the Mixed Zone after the FD that they're working on next season already (CarPon & LimQuan), but exclude LajLag with their obvious disappointment & eyebrow-raising Mixed Zone remarks about their future. Why would CPom or Lop/Bri or Lim/Quan retire? Lim/Quan had a couple of bad skates, but they're still young and have potential.
In name as well as ability.LaLa have been waiting to be Canada #1 for so long.
Relieved to hear that about LimQuan, their reaction after the free had me nervous (and I don’t follow all the social media feeds with the quotes). The better question is why include those teams, some of whom have already posted on IG or remarked in the Mixed Zone after the FD that they're working on next season already (CarPon & LimQuan), but exclude LajLag with their obvious disappointment & eyebrow-raising Mixed Zone remarks about their future.
Guignard/Fabbri posted on their socials that they were planning on competing next year.
Agreed. If Gilles/Poirier actually retire, and if nothing materially changes about L/L’s results, then I could see them dropping out mid-quad ala Hawayek/Baker. But I suspect they would want to see how they’re received as Canada #1 before retiring.LaLa have been waiting to be Canada #1 for so long. Unlike CarPon, who must be disappointed not to succeed ChoBat, Marjorie and Zack have no serious domestic competition. I also think they should reconsider IAM especially if FB/C are staying as the anointed team, but they certainly shouldn’t retire now.
At the rate we're going, the only people who will retire will be frustrated juniors and young seniors.Guignard/Fabbri posted on their socials that they were planning on competing next year.
I completely agree. At the rate we're going, the only people who will retire will be frustrated juniors and young seniors.
It's time to say goodbye.
Was it an ig stroy? I don't see anything on their accountsGuignard/Fabbri posted on their socials that they were planning on competing next year.
I thought the only thing they'd said about next season was the quote from the post-Olympics article from one of their sponsors - the Italian police? It was discussed in the Dance Hall thread at the time. Was it an ig stroy? I don't see anything on their accounts
That's what I'm familiar with as well, but was wondering if they posted anything newI thought the only thing they'd said about next season was the quote from the post-Olympics article from one of their sponsors - the Italian police? It was discussed in the Dance Hall thread at the time.
Ugh, that's the worst, like when V/M announced they were coming back in 2016 and just about every internationally competitive Canadian dance team outside the top three immediately split or retired. At the rate we're going, the only people who will retire will be frustrated juniors and young seniors.

I liked a lot of those teams, but they correctly read the room that there was no hope of championship assignments.Ugh, that's the worst, like when V/M announced they were coming back in 2016 and just about every internationally competitive Canadian dance team outside the top three immediately split or retired.

Speaking of.. that is one team that should be in the poll. I think they will retire again.I liked a lot of those teams, but they correctly read the room that there was no hope of championship assignments.
The Shibs’s surprise worlds bronze also sent a seismic shock through US dance with a lot of splits. I wonder if Z/K’s bronze will have any effects on the other teams.
But with C/B retiring and G/P looking vulnerable there should be room for a breakthrough from a younger teamI liked a lot of those teams, but they correctly read the room that there was no hope of championship assignments.

I thought they were going to retire but I think they said in the interview at Worlds they will do another season?Do we think van Rensburg & Steffan will keep going?
