@kwanfan1818 posted the following in the Canadian Ladies news thread in GSD and so I thought her calculations deserved to be in a new thread:
For [2018/19 Grand Prix selection], the 2015-16 points will be dropped, and the 2016-17 points will be factored by 70%. Medvedeva has more points than Osmond to drop from 2015-16.

There are still three competitions listed where there are international points to be had. Balkan Cup just says "Singles," Egna says senior Ladies, Men, and Pairs, and Triglav says senior Ladies and Men.
Without the final three events, these are the Top 30 I get. I don't remember how they do the rounding, ie, add and round, or round each one (which I did) or trim, etc., which could flip #24 and #25, if they do it differently. Bold means they are not on the Top 24 SB list and didn't place Top 12 at Worlds:
1-Kaetlyn OSMOND (CAN): 4174
2-Evgenia MEDVEDEVA (RUS): 3860
3-Alina ZAGITOVA (RUS): 3470
4-Wakaba HIGUCHI (JPN): 3366
5-Maria SOTSKOVA (RUS): 3250
6-Carolina KOSTNER (ITA): 3212
7-Mai MIHARA (JPN): 3089
8-Satoko MIYAHARA (JPN): 2863
9-Kaori SAKAMOTO (JPN): 2595
10-Gabrielle DALEMAN (CAN): 2546
11-Elizabet TURSYNBAEVA (KAZ): 2375
12-Karen CHEN (USA): 2274 (SB 35)
13-Mirai NAGASU (USA): 2066
14-Mariah BELL (USA): 1943
15-Stanislava KONSTANTINOVA (RUS): 1870
16-Bradie TENNELL (USA): 1858
17-Rika HONGO (JPN): 1848 (SB 31)
18-Dabin CHOI (KOR): 1703
19-Marin HONDA (JPN): 1658
20-Nicole SCHOTT (GER): 1627 (SB 50)
21-Laurine LECAVELIER (FRA): 1579 (SB 51)
22-Loena HENDRICKX (BEL): 1529
23-Elizaveta TUKTAMYSHEVA (RUS): 1508
24-Nicole RAJICOVA (SVK): 1473 (SB 47)
25-Elena RADIONOVA (RUS): 1469
26-Anna POGORILAYA (RUS): 1433
27-Emmi PELTONEN (FIN): 1414
28-Yuna SHIRAIWA (JPN): 1370
29-Mae Berenice MEITE (FRA): 1340
30-Anita ÖSTLUND (SWE): 1312
Chartrand drops to 36 on my list.

If Kostner does retire, then they should bump Schott up one to be guaranteed two GPs.
As we've noticed in the past, if the federations don't submit official notices of their retired skaters to the ISU, the skaters will stay on the ISU World Standings lists indefinitely (until they drop off in due time).

ETA: Wagner (1215.8) is projected be above Chartrand (1177.5), somewhere between 30-36.

World rankings are sometimes so ridiculous when you look at them. How are the Shibs behind both B/S and C/L who they haven't lost to in over two seasons and have been way more successful in the standings?

Because the Shibutanis have elected not to compete in fall international (ISU Challenger) competitions for the past 2 seasons.

This is usually the case for any of the top skaters/teams who we think should be higher in the WS.

Thanks for the update @Sylvia !

I hope you are not trying to tell that you know something we don't by omitting #7, Jason Brown, from your men's list:D

Did Javi not announce his retirement?
He has said he intends to continue but not to do full seasons. I assume that means going to Europeans and perhaps Worlds.
Spanish news article linked here: https://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/th...elo-a-don-quixote-on-ice.101708/#post-5305976

I only indicated in my list (post #6) above which skaters or teams officially have announced their 2018-19 plans (via a press release or reliably sourced article, etc.).

Current ISU World Standings after 2018 Worlds (top 24 in each discipline copied out below for posterity):
...
ICE DANCE ( http://www.isuresults.com/ws/ws/wsdance.htm )

13 2603 Laurence FOURNIER BEAUDRY / Nikolaj SORENSEN CAN
It was pointed out to me on Twitter that the Danish-now-Canadian team are not listed in the updated WS list.

They are, however, still listed for CAN on the 2017-18 ISU SB total scores list as of March 24, 2018: http://www.isuresults.com/isujsstat/sb2017-18/sbtsdto.htm
19 164.90 Laurence FOURNIER BEAUDRY / Nikolaj SORENSEN CAN ISU European Championships 2018 20.01.2018 (their ISU bio still lists them as DEN)

ETA: I've cross-posted the above in the Dance Hall thread.

Nice to see Rizzo, Smart/Diaz and Boikova/Koslovski sneaking in and qualifiying for at least 1 GP event. Also Savosin but I guess he should do another JGP season.

Haven't VM made it clear that they will not be competing next season?
CSOI article by Steve Milton (April 30): https://www.thespec.com/opinion-sto...nd-scott-moir-bring-moulin-rouge-to-hamilton/
Virtue and Moir — labelled Canada's Sweethearts when they won gold in Vancouver, and North America's, if not the World's, Sweethearts when they won gold in Pyeongchang — haven't formally announced that they're done with competitive skating, but you can probably bet on it.
"We're leaning toward the fact that we're finished amateur skating," Moir concedes. "So this is a celebration. We're so thankful for the support Canadians have given us all these years.

Do WS point carry over when you switch countries?

I hope this ranking means they get a Grand Prix assignment (or two) next season!

The fact that Fournier-Beaudry & Sorenson have been taken off the list implies that no, WS points do not carry over when you switch countries. And the fact that F-B&S remain on the SB list implies that SB scores do carry over when you switch countries.

Consistency being everything, you know;).

Well they may be off the list because they cannot compete internationally for Canada until very late next season - so not eligible for this list yet?

Yeah that's what it seems like. I was mostly wondering if we know whether this is what has happened in the past, with singles skaters who switch countries.

Good question. It looks like Alexia Paganini still has World Standings points from her JGP two seasons ago.

So . . . maybe it's a mistake, and F-B&S will get their WS points after all. Or maybe we have a rule change?
