The stream is now live and not yet "official".

I'm watching the first group from work and then will be on my way home so won't be much use for commenting. I'll watch properly on replay later. Excited for final group.

I'm here. These hours perfectly line up with my typical work hours all weekend

Slept through the middle group last night, awoken by the Browns' tinny music (not their fault - audio issues). Let's see if I fare better tonight.

Fournier/Zhu

Dance Spin 4
One Foot 1/1
Curve/Curve 4/4
Twizzles 4/3
Serpentine Step 2/1
Rotational Lift 4

Story of the curse of a tall partner - he is always hunching his neck down, even in general when he's not in hold with her. Better skated than RD obviously but tentative here.

I couldn't ask this last night (because I was asleep ) but watching the replay today and seeing so many biff their twizzles, it made me wonder if the ice was harder than skaters are used to?

Most of these teams are lower-ranked than many of the Euros top 20 teams. Twizzles are hard.

Erm, very early signs are that nobody practiced their twizzles between yesterday and today. ;)

ETA: And yes, twizzles ARE hard. When I skated I never got beyond a single twizzle on each foot and these guys are doing much more difficult variations than adult-skater-inside-twizzle.

Stanley / Urano

Stationary Lift 4
Diagonal Step 2/2
Twizzles 2/2 - and you see here the lower teams not getting much distance at all as they rotate. GOE barely above 0
Dance Spin 4
Curve/Curve 4
One Foot 1/1 - again not an easy element, with the lower level-teams you see how clunky it is between all of the four required linking criteria to get levels

Last two Ch elements also with 0 GOE - obviously massive opportunity to gain points.

Not an oomph to the elements, GOEs all hovering around neutral and very cautious going into and out of almost everything.

This is true, but didn't some of the teams we've seen on the GP also biff? That's what got me questioning if it was something systematic.

Also, not to make @Bunny Hop jealous, but I could do 3-4 twizzles in a row the few times I tried them. OTOH, my 3turns sucked big time.

I really liked the music composition and how it had a development. Enjoyed the commitment for the program and their effort to keep improving their technical side. I think she has potential and he is the weaker of both, pair her with Donovan :P

I'm not sure from a skating foundations level that would be any kind of step up for her 😇

Cute from them making the letter M (of Mexico) with their fingers in the k&c

Not jealous at all. Good on you! My turns were definitely better than my twizzles. Was learning the harder ones when I stopped skating.

Pallu-Neves/Panesar

Rotational/Stationary 4/4
Diagonal 2/1
Dance Spin 4
One Foot 2/2
Twizzles 4/4
Straight Line Lift 4

Pretty and pleasant. I'd probably keep them in first for now. Speed and posture better than the Canadians, I think the ice coverage was too.

WTF are they doing to Bastille??

To be clear, I wasn't doing them on multiple edges or moving my arms or legs or in synch with another person. They are definitely hard when done at this level.

The Brazilians list each other as former partners. Did they break up and get back together or did they not understand the question?

Thus forth, not a single element has dropped or upped a level after reviews.

Nauryzova/Datiev

Stationary + Rotational Lift 4/4
Twizzles 2/4
Midline 1/2
One Foot 1/2
Dance Spin 2
Straight Line Lift 4 --> nice highlight

Pleasant as well. Chris is all bothered by his stroking and not extending all the way, but there have been much worse offenders even so far today
