2022-2023 Skate Canada Challenges

Skate Canada has announced that there will be two Challenges this year - the Junior/Senior event will be in Winnipeg Nov. 30-Dec. 3 with the Novice event in 2023.

I am beyond thrilled about the location of the event! The I originally heard the news from assumed it would be held at the Jets practice rink, but it's going to be a 5 min drive/20 min walk from my home. Gorgeous new twin rink facility located next to a shopping mall, nice and warm with the best ice I've ever skated on. As much as I hate to wish the warm weather away, I can't wait for Nov. 30th!

I wish they hadn't split the event, although it does make sense to hold the novice/pre-novice event later since their nationals are later. When I could get to the Challenge, I usually watched the PN to Juniors, since all the skaters at those levels needed to go to Challenge, while most of the top Seniors would skip it.
