I think we have to take a moment to appreciate how wonderful this event has been - a stark contrast to what happened four years ago. Ami's one mistake would seem to be enough to keep her off the top of the podium, but she should have done enough to medal.

SP: 78.71 = 1st Place
FS: 140.45 = 9th Place
Total: 219.16 = 3rd Place

I'm going to be thoroughly annoyed if these two sets of junior-ish programs win the Olympic gold medal.

TES is barely above Alysa, but she's got a 3 point advantage from the SP, so I'm gonna just have to resign myself to being thoroughly annoyed.

I love Nakai, but I don't think they can PCS her ahead of Liu with equal tech. I'd love it if they did, but I don't think it will happen. And she has to hope all reviews are clean.

Nakai for gold. Triple axels (FS & SP) let her absorb that mistake on her combo.

ETA: hmmm, TES dropped again. Getting interesting!

Chiba was maybe a touch cleaner but I think Nakai was better overall.

I have to say, other than Gubanova the final group have all been pretty good, only one mistake each other than Alysa? And they all stayed in the top 6 (with Amber replacing Gubanova of course). That's great consistency from them all. No splat fests! :cheer:
