Took me a while to find this thread, and then I had flashbacks of years ago when you opened "The Trash Can", the D/W and V/M threads were always on top. Those were the days.

So now I am seeing posts about Charlie and Tanith divorcing. Believe me, I have no inside information but it just seems kinda sad, if true. Charlie was always over the moon about Tanith from when he was a teenager. But people age and life gets different sometimes. I wish them the best and hope their little man weathers the storm.

I’m shocked at the rumors. If true, I wonder what happened with those two??

We haven’t had an exciting rivalry in Ice Dance since D/W and V/M, in my opinion. I miss both teams so much! Those truly were the days!
 
Just stopping by again...I felt like watching some YouTube Meryl and Charlie. I felt like crying, they were so utterly amazing. I was watching a really great video of their Sochi FD and I know ice dance has changed in ten years but oh man, they were just in a zone that was unmatched. Could not have been more perfect. Their connection, power, artistry and just their incredible precision was a sight to behold. Was just a complete joy to be their fan and I will say it one more time...they totally exceeded my dreams of what they could accomplish and to me, they will always be the absolute greatest US Ice Dance team then and now. That's my throwback uber post for the day!

Thanks for sharing this - there are some shots here I'd never seen before, like of the Moms in the audience at Sochi and practicing POTO it looks like.

I feel so fortunate that it was Davis/White I stumbled on half my lifetime ago, the way their career went, and how special it was to follow them. They won their biggest titles in Russia, Scott's hometown of London, and Russia to cap it off! I recently noticed they have the record for most GPF Final wins (five years gold consecutively) in ice dance. I miss the raw power, abandon, but with such technicality in ice dance. But I'm excited to see what comes up in US ice dance
