I wouldn't be surprised if Fernandez sat this year out, though there is a post-War record of consecutive titles that he would set should he win (breaking tie w/Ondrej Nepela).

I think he'll go since he missed the GPF

It makes sense for Fernandez to go - he surely has a good chance at another gold (who else is really likely to challenge him?) And could build some momentum going into the Olympics.

Otherwise, it's not easy to pick the podium from such a consistently inconsistent bunch. Several guys could - but probably won't.

I would like to see Javi, of course. In agreement w/ Voronov for sentimental reasons.

Moris is actually a dark (or not so dark;) ) horse for the podium. He has several quads, and has become quite consistent, in contrast to the other quad guys - Aymoz, Chafik, Brezina, Fentz, Samohin. The judges seems to award Moris when he skates well. Kolyada is wildly inconstant, but he gets the scores, no matter what. Silver Fox is proving he's better than ever. Bychenko could get another medal before he retires, that would be really nice, but if both him and Voronov skates clean, I think the judges will give it to the latter. Of course, if Samarin goes, he's a serious threat too.
BUT if Samohin suddenly decides it's time to land everything, he could very well be up there!

Of course, there's more guys with quads than the ones I mentioned, but they only have one planned, right? Maybe it will be enough? Or maybe Hendricxs can land a podium finish without it? Or Deniss? I'm all for it!!

(I didn't mention Javi now, on purpose, as there's no way he'll be off the podium if he goes)
