The most Gen Z (and tacky) of this whole debacle is this:
Ashley posted "I'm trying to heal and like skating again." (She posts this content a lot, and has talked about her struggles with skating and past personality/conflict issues.) Then out of nowhere that skater comes up, reposts it, and...
@Jarrett A lot of 11-year-olds are dropped off alone at rinks. Not a whole day, but certainly for a few hours. If you’re there all the time like all these skaters were it’s not that unusual.
And I’m not saying they did this so many times they forgot. I’m saying this is such a common thing to...
@Jarrett You obviously haven't been at a rink for a busy freestyle. Yelling at kids to get off the ice and ushering them off isn't exactly uncommon... Usually it's a coach, but sometimes the older skaters will do it as well. I've even seen coaches or older skaters get hands on skaters to get...
So tacky.
People change - especially when said people are under the stress of a senior skating career and financial strain. There's no context for why they were telling her to get off the ice (this happens a fair amount at rinks for different reasons). The timeline doesn't add up (they were...
Watch IAM completely ignore that he got off on a technicality and bring him on as a choreographer/coach. Bonus if they try to hide it to maintain their image - though maybe it would be more them to happily announce it?
That could make for a great FD! It looks like this is already choreographed with elements that could be a competitive FS, so it wouldn't take much to turn it competitive.
While many skaters credit the artists (including the skaters who were sued - starting this whole mess), I do notice that a not insignificant amount of skaters don't seem to do much work on this. It's very weird that they can't be bothered to credit the musician properly when I go to some...
NBC chooses who they use for the promos based on a) who's most likely to make it and b) the best stories.
The Shib Sibs work with NBC on Olympic stuff, so they have that as an added bonus. NBC always chooses some athletes and comeback kids to make promos of that don't make it.
And don't forget they've already been banned from one Olympics (2018) for likely doping or sportsmanship violations of some sort.
Russia loves them but the IOC and ISU definitely don't. I'm sure they'll hate them even more now that Russian fans are bombing their social media posts with...
I think if the Russian ladies representative wins or even medals, there will be a HUGE asterisk by her name.
I'm shocked they didn't ban all Eteri skaters given Eteri's history with doping and the rules stating those associated with doping will not be allowed... Maybe the skater will be there...
@Bigbird Based on ice dance trends, I don't think C/B or G/P are in any threat of being left off the podium. C/B could fall and still win with the margins they've been getting. G/P would need a fall to keep them off. I think bronze is a bigger competition, but I don't think there's any shot for...
The thing I always come back to is a C/B fresh off their snake and alien/astronaut program saying they were staying because they had more great ideas! And I said great! Those were great programs! And then what we've been getting from them is not nearly that interesting. Or loving G/P because...
