This is fantastic. I was lucky enough to judge Todd and Jeni way back and then work with him on technical panel training and on panels. He is a fantastic, caring and fun person and while the road ahead may be hard, he can do it.

Oh, and as a key person involved in the golden age first on the board in the early 2000s, an olympic judge and then CEO, I find this tragic. A federation can't make the results - that's the coaches and athletes. But a federation can make it way easier or way harder for athletes to be developed...
Let's just say that I wouldn't view that as quite good. The goal should be challenging for a medal in every discipline and in time with the goal of having more than 1 contender per discipline.
I so agree with you. The article makes it seem quite clear that he was baited. He is handling it thoughtfully and yet still making his view clear. He shouldn't have to address this kind of nonsense and should be able to focus simply on his preparation for the games to allow the best...
I know this as well as anyone given my time on both sides of the sport at very high levels. Partially true but partially because structurally the system doesn't encourage outsiders. I have experience with sports that go outside more and that blend is far healthier in my view and experience.
I don't think that there is a suggestion that a federation president has judged inappropriately nor that they are dishonest or bad judges. Notwithstanding this, I do not think presidents of federations should be officiating in any capacity. It undermines the credibility of the system...
