According to SOKs website there are two different criteria too qualify, the basic criteria and the future criteria. From what I read the basic criteria is that the skater must prove that they are capable of finishing 8th at the Olympics. If I understand it correctly, the future criteria says...

I'm not sure if Joshi has to fulfill the same requirements as Alexander. SOK kan send athletes to the olympics based on potential, but only one time. To get a second trip they have to show that they can place top eight. Since Joshi hasn't been to the olympics she could probably get a spot...
