Yuzuru Hanyu announces his retirement from competition (updated after his press conference)

Thank God we won't be hearing "I want to win. I absolutely need to win. Please support me" to stir up his fans before competitions anymore.

US Dept of Justice Alleges that China Targeted Critics in US, including Alysa Liu's Father

Authur said "a stranger," he didn't say a Chinese volunteer or a Chinese, approached Alysa. More likely another athlete in the cafeteria was looking for a date than any conspiracy.

And without Boyang. Who would need those 3 2023 worlds spots with Nathan, Vincent, Jason, Camden out next season?

ISU Statement on Russia's war against Ukraine - Participation in international competitions of Skaters and Officials from Russia and Belarus

Putin seems to have made up his mind to occupy Ukraine and even take away its statehood, which means sporting sanctions will remain for a long time. Hope ISU would allow Russian skaters to compete as an independent or represent other countries next season with no waiting period and permission...

ISU Statement on Russia's war against Ukraine - Participation in international competitions of Skaters and Officials from Russia and Belarus

How will these events affect the Valieva doping investigation? RUADA will do nothing and WADA can’t do anything to follow up. The team medals may forever be decided.

CAS rules Valieva can compete - reactions/fallout, plus some details from the hearing

There's some truth in Russian's take that you Americans can take tons of trimetazidine but still cannot land the quads. You need talent and hard work to be a skater like Valieva.

    U.S. Men 2021-22 season news & updates

I am sure USFS or even Vincent had rapid test kits with them to double check his positive result.

Russian Figure Skater tests positive for drugs - delays ceremony for team medals

No such rules. There were instances of ceremonies with missing medalist/medalists in the Olympics by protest and other excuses (eg, USA basketball team protesting their silver medals. Iranian medalist used sick excuse to avoid standing with Israel medalist). Team ROC is under doping...

CAS rules Valieva can compete - reactions/fallout, plus some details from the hearing

Arthur did sound a bit sour grape and I don't think he has definitive evidence. Kamila may dope or may be doped but there's still a possibility Anna and Sasha didn't dope. I remain amazed at them and their skills.

Russian Figure Skater tests positive for drugs - delays ceremony for team medals

It didn't mention Team Japan. Would they get the Olympic torches too?

CAS rules Valieva can compete - reactions/fallout, plus some details from the hearing

Here you go. All 220 US Olympians tell IOC that they want US Figure Skating Team get their medals and celebrate their win in Beijing. https://twitter.com/USOPC_AAC/status/1493439026044436480/photo/1

CAS rules Valieva can compete - reactions/fallout, plus some details from the hearing

Simple logic. Getting your silver and bronze now on site will make not harm to getting your gold or silver later off site, comparing to getting your gold or silver later off site. What if the final ruling were ROC retain their gold and USA and JPN get their silver and bronze? IOC's decision just...

CAS rules Valieva can compete - reactions/fallout, plus some details from the hearing

Just the opposite. A medal ceremony w/o the gold winner is a clear message to the world that ROC is under doping investigation, which the best punishment to them under the circumstance.

CAS rules Valieva can compete - reactions/fallout, plus some details from the hearing

I think the athletes would prefer to be awarded their silver and bronze now in Beijing and re-awarded the gold, silver and bronze later at home should the investigation confirm ROC's wrongdoing.
