IIRC Tomoki is starting a full time job (in finance/management or similar) in Chicago around April. I’m guessing he wanted to prioritize getting ready for this and moving back to the US versus training for an extra two months for the possible chance of competing at worlds. Hopefully he’s happy...
You can take it with the grain of salt, but per Reddit, Victoria did get a visa for Estonia, but Skate Canada implemented a deadline on their side and she missed it, supposedly by one day.
I assume there was also pressure and/or expectations from USFS for them to go to help earn spots for US pairs teams next year. Maybe they felt they couldn’t say no to USFS in order to stay in their good graces.
Based on nationals bios, Logan Higase-Chen has switched to Tracy Wilson and Brian Orser, training in Toronto, although Tammy is still listed as a coach as well.
He did say in an interview several months back that he’d be happy to go again. I’m sure his team has a plan to adjust his LP as needed just like Elyce Lin-Gracey did last year.
If he is able to skate, he would have been better off keeping his SC assignment than competing at sectionals and relying on his score there to hopefully get him through to nationals.
If he didn’t feel he was ready more than a month before for SC, I can’t see how he could be ready for...
