Agree. I really liked the Britney Spears short he choreographed for Mariah Bell in the 2019-2020 season (the infamous “Work, B*tch” program) and think Star’s program is somewhat reminiscent of that one. It’s light and fun.
I’m not assuming that, just as I’m not assuming he should retire because of his age. Nathan Bartholomay is 33, but he seems to have a lot of issues with injuries. I don’t have that impression with Brandon. Evan Bates is 34 and shows no signs of retiring. Danny O’Shea is 32 and is doing very well...
Here’s my random idea. What about McBeath/Frazier? Nate likely needs to retire due to injuries. Wasn’t he injured at Nationals? Katie isn’t Alexa, but few are. If she wants to continue, and Brandon wants to continue, it’s a pairing that could work imo.
Thoughts?
I’m a fan. The first year she skated seniors, I had heard all the buzz about Thorngren and Levito and watched with interest. Shin was the one who impressed me most. Audrey seems to be recovered from the injuries that held her back for the last couple of years, so I expect her to move up.
Love to see that Audrey Shin won! The first time I saw her and Lindsay Thorngren in a senior competition, Audrey was the one who impressed me more. Then the injury bug hit. Here’s hoping this season she can show what she is truly capable of doing.
Now that I’ve watched M/S’s free dance, I agree with what others have said. IMO they need new coaches and/or new choreographers. The latter would probably help a lot. The one thing I thought while watching was that the dance was very … blah. Maybe they’ll add more to it as the season progresses?
For the record, I agree with the selection of Jason for the Olympics. He met all criteria as outlined. He qualified for the GP Final; it’s not like every skate was a splatfest. People are ranting like he can’t stay on his feet while skating.
Now, with that being said … is it possible that...
I really do not get all the hate for Jason from some posters. You are judging his technical abilities based on quads alone, when his other elements are often far above what others can do. I read an article recently in which Brian Orser talked about being in awe of what Jason can do. Other...
Agree with all of this. My niece was a competitive dancer - in fact, she was on Team USA. She has a very scientific mind, and she really appreciated teachers who gave her very specific, physiological reasons for changing her technique. If you could tell her why she had to move her body in a...
Did anyone else think C/J and L/O were underscored? I thought both teams should’ve been one spot higher in the standings. In particular, in still scratching my head as to how C/J scored behind the Japanese team in musical interpretation. They owned that performance! It’s entirely possible that I...
A question. Is Alysa age eligible for seniors yet? If not, is she even eligible for Nebelhorn? For some reason I thought there was an issue with the age cutoff.
I enjoyed the special. While I didn’t agree with all of their choices, I did agree with most. i totally agree with those who would’ve chosen a different program for Nathan (Rocket Man!) and Adam Rippon, and I don’t get the selection of Starr Andrews. I loved seeing Jason Brown’s Riverdance, the...
I admit that I haven’t gone back and looked closely at their SBS jumps. Ashley 2-footed the landing on at least one throw jump that I saw in real time, and it was clear in the replay as well. I saw some unison issues in the jumps as well. I’m probably in the minority here, but A&T leave me cold...
