I believe it was Alexander Lakernik who pressured the ISU to lower value on quad throws after Duhamel and Radford had perfected the throw quad salchow.

This attitude that nothing less than gold is acceptable is the problem.
It creates profound pressure on Adeliia in 2026 and it created a mess among 'The "Triple A's" in 2022.
How bout, no starving, no doping and no external pressure. Let these girls do the best...
Yeah, I don't think Alysa would have a problem doing both segments. It may not even be up to her, as I think Ilia and C/B have first dibs on splitting. If she is given the option, she might elect to split to give Amber a chance at a Team medal.
2002 was a decent performance. However, 2006 was really not good. Slow, awkward spiral sequence, utilitarian stroking, and messy landings on 3 of the four jumps she did land.

I just rewatched Slutskaya and Arakawa's 2006 Oly free skates. Slutskaya landed 4 triples, three with wide free leg landings, fell on triple loop and doubled flip combo.
Arakawa landed five clean triples and doubled her loop. She also had superior extension in...
No. They can only count 2 out of best three. major comps in last three years. Even an 840 point win, with their lowest score dropping out, would not be enough to catch Alysa.
Well, she has no points for the 23-24 season. It actually is quite a feat that she managed top 5 in less than two seasons. It's also a good spot for her, since she won't need to remove her skates after her six minute warm-up in Olympics short. She'll be skating first, second or third in final...
I wouldn't be surprised. Her three jump combo could then be a 3lz, 2a, 2a, in effect, replacing a 2lp with a 3a. Even if the 3a is underrotated, it's still about five extra points.
