Plus going back to an old program may be more important to the skater than their score or the audience. If Livia (or whoever) feels more connected or enjoys a program - so be it. Unless you are Ashley Wagner and Moulin Rouge. You wonder what the LaLaLand program would have looked like at 2018...

I love that idea! Couldn't be worse than the last few seasons, just don't make it a slow, dirge tempo requirement. Although I'm sure some of the more conservative folks would be freaked out by anything related to Heated Rivalry. They already have their unders in a twist about same-gender skating.

Yes it was January. Because we bought Nats tix when they went on sale, and then later bought Olympics tix in February and realized we couldn't be gone back to back months, as we need a caregiver to stay with my mother-in-law.

Thanks @Andrea82 for the list! We've been saying it all quad - dance is super stacked! And there's more interesting teams/placements in the second-mid-lower tiers. Slotting into top 10 will be Olympic medal worthy, even extending out to the top 15-18 will have some strong teams.

Agree. Or possibly they want him as the good-luck insurance he usually is when it comes to earn/keep the third spot. I say that in jest but also truth. No clue if he'll want a swan song world skate or if he's over it all and is done.

They certainly didn’t look to ‘the future’ with Ilia in 2022 Olympic selection. He’s talked openly about how it motivated him to prive them wrong. We really need help from France to knock out Canada in the Team event for us to squeeze out an extra pairs point.

It’s almost reversed. Usually women’s is more unclear with several more contenders. Pairs is the one with 1-2 top teams and 1-2 potential spoilers. Passport issues aside, they might as well draw names out of a hat.

Agreed. It shows under pressure, none of the teams could hold up. Granted they faced different types of pressure, but none truly skated up to the nationals gold standard. One of the biggest head scratchers was McBeath/Parkman going for the 3F. I know they’ve attempted and landed them before...
