U.S. Women [#8]: Meet Me in St. Louis

YAY! Thank goodness! I've been so worried that Alysa's boot problems might continue to hamper her jumps in competition and training during the Olympic season! I'm going to keep lighting candles just in case! ✨🕯️✨🙏🏼✨

    2025-26 Program Music and Choreographers

Actually, there is a 1990 song by the Puerto Rican artist Chayanne called "Tiempo de Vals" (Waltz Time), with a rather lyrical pop-Waltz feel to it. I remember visiting my late aunt in Miami and that song seemed to be on all of the Spanish radio stations in late summer/early fall of 1990! It's a...

U.S. Women [#8]: Meet Me in St. Louis

Very wise decision on Alysa's part. As I said in the choreography thread, I'm sure that Alysa and her team will be able to come up with a new SP and the right music to go with it. Alysa has had to deal with boots issues, and now this tragic event associated with one of the artists who sang with...

    2025-26 Program Music and Choreographers

I am so glad that Alysa is changing her SP due to the tragic events associated with one of the artists. My heart goes out to the loved ones of the deceased girl. 🙏🏼 As for scrapping this season's SP, I think that if anyone can pull off a fab new SP with new music, Alysa and her team can! I'll...

Russian figure skating news in 2024

I had never heard of the novel nor the film until Petr skated to the music from the film. Now I'll have to seek both out to learn more! German actress Emilia Schüle, who starred in the series "Marie Antoinette", (as the ill-fated Queen) also starred in a film about a killer trying to find the...

Russian figure skating news in 2024

Huh??? The respective works of Charles Dickens and Charlotte Brontë (as well as the respective works of her sisters Emily and Anne) have been published in multiple languages throughout Europe, the Americas and throughout the rest of the world for over 170+ years through the 19th, 20th, and now...

Russian figure skating news in 2024

I'll have to look up those older videos! It's been years so not sure about the Jason's Ponytail account. I refuse to go back on what is now called X to see if it's still there! ETA: Ok, I broke down and borrowed my nephew's X account (with his permission) to take a peak. The Jason's Ponytail...

Russian figure skating news in 2024

I was getting something like Chopin vibes from Gumennik with the broody good looks and the flowy hair on the podium! ✨🥇✨ Speaking of hair, I hope he doesn't cut off the ponytail. I still miss Jason's. I used to follow a Jason's Ponytail account on old Twitter. Wonder if it's still there lol!

2025-26 US Pairs Discussion - Milano-Bound By Way of Beijing & St. Louis

Thank you for expressing my frustration better than I could. I'm not sure if I feel anger just yet, but perhaps I'm still in the shock and disbelief stage. The program that they were given was not - it. To say the very least. Smh. ✨🤦🏼‍♀️✨

Russian figure skating news in 2024

My thoughts exactly. Unfortunately, many of the Russian skaters who 'won' events, even at the Junior levels, will always have an asterisk next to their names as far as I'm concerned due to not just one, but multiple doping scandals in the Russian program. And it came to light long before the...

U.S. Women [#8]: Meet Me in St. Louis

Boot issues always scare me for skaters! 😳 And in the Olympic season it's especially frustrating! Hopefully Alysa will sort out her boot problems asap! I think Jason had boot problems last year before Worlds! ETA, knowing all of this in hindsight, I'm amazed that Alysa still went for it...

U.S. Women [#8]: Meet Me in St. Louis

Not sure if this goes here, but per goldsk8 on Instagram who posted some Alysa Liu interview tidbits on IG, Alysa is having boot problems and it's affecting her jumping abilities on the 3A and her other jumps. Ilia's dad has been helping her with the boots issue (super kind of him!). Lighting...

U.S. Women [#8]: Meet Me in St. Louis

OT but did any skaters during Disco Queen Donna Summers (RIP) heyday skate to her music? 😁 I think her version of the MacArthur Park Suite ROCKS! I prefer it to the (1960s?) Richard Harris (RIP) ballad version. It's nice, but way too slow and sleepy imo for a skating program.
