What I've been trying to figure out is, if a lot of skating fans made their reservation May 6th (as my friend did for my group, and as other people on this thread did), why is the hotel just now realizing there's a problem, almost two months later? I'm really hoping that this all works out fine...

I wonder if that could explain why my friend got "histrionics" instead of just bumped. She has something like 20 years of Gold Bonvoy status. I think Platinum or Titanium at some point. . . . Although that still wouldn't completely explain why some rooms have been cancelled and not others...

I don't understand it at all, but in this particular situation, the person with the reservation (who received the email from the hotel) is planning to attend Skate America, and the hotel was trying to get them to move.
