Shapopalov had Sinner on the ropes and now has completely fallen apart. :wall:

His interview with ESPN commentators about 45 minutes after the match made me think he may pull the plug after this season or do an announcement that 2026 will be his final year. He basically admitted his body and mind are at odds with being able to keep up with the younger guys for 7 straight...

Russian figure skating news in 2024

Yes, I don't get that at all, and it's actually distracting in a not so good way. The second jump pass looked under, but otherwise this was a very impressive public debut. Of course it's not the same pressure as the OQE will be, but that event will be packed with headcases and strong but not...

A pretty dreadful day for the American men yesterday, with the exception of Fritz, who even his hands full with a really talented Swiss qualifier, Jerome Kym (whose service style is gorgeous). Novak pulls out the win despite pulling a muscle in his back, but he gets this year's giant killer...

Glad I didn't stay up and watch the Tommy Paul match. 4-and-a-half hour battle. I'm sure it was thrilling based on what I did see, but... that would have been a VERY late night. Not sure how these players adapt to the Open's crazy schedule.

Impressed Lamens took a set off Swiatek. Everyone seems to have Iga poised to win here, so a closer than expected second round match is a bit unexpected. And Sinner utterly destroyed Popyrin. On paper I'd have expected a much closer match. And Jannik didn't even serve so great today.

As someone OLD who actually lived in NYC in the 80s and early 90s and went to the Elks Lodge and Webster Hall to watch balls, I can honestly say I never heard Depeche Mode. Pretty sure I heard their music on occasion at Limelight, but that was a very different animal. 🤷‍♂️ Ah the days when I...

Rather ironic coming from Ostapenko, as she's thrown multiple temper tantrums on court (and apparently isn't liked very much off court by other players as well, per the commentators).

I'm guessing Lilah will play the part of Johnny Depp's hat in that movie and be tossed around and slid along the ice a lot. :P I'm intrigued they are going out of the pop disco box for the FD, but the last time they did that was their "Lion King" free, which probably was their least...

Draper out of the men's draw due to injury, so his opponent gets a walkover to the third round. I wonder if @AngieNikodinovLove (ANL) had his voodoo doll out, as that's also Musetti's quarter of the draw?
