^Ting Cui was someone prior to the pandemic that I was keeping an eye on. She was someone that mixed up with the Russian Juniors so I always thought she had the potential to knock down some doors.
Yeah, I doubt they are going to do another Gaga program, though the song was higher charting in EUR than in the US, so perhaps some voidy Euro Ice Dance team will do it.
This would work for me.
BTW - Just throwing this out in the universe, but Lady Gaga's Abracadabra has got to be someone's program somewhere this year. Maybe in Ice Dance (?)
Does this thread mean a program has jumped the shark as it developed over the season? Or its original selection was jumping the shark as it relates to the skater's career?
Yes, but I interpret 'conservative' here as simplifying layouts, dialing back, doubling jumps. Sasha was many things but I don't think she lacked for ambition, even when she was unfocused or injured.
I am mostly confident. But, we will have to see 1) what happens w/ the incorporation of the 3A into her LPs this Fall, and 2) How she reacts to being pursued as WC. Heavy is the head that wears the crown
^She did land the 3A in 2022 w/ DG, although that season was not her best.
I am enjoying the well-thought-out posts here, and I am leaning towards being positive about Alysa and the 3A
IIRC, I think Arakawa had issues with UR on the 3L and 3-3s (?). This was back in the day when you got nailed by the IJS for a 1/4 UR. So, I think her team's strategy was to avoid penalties
Brian Boitano told Polina Edmonds that a skater shouldn't bring in new or more difficult jumps to an Olympic season, but since she did it last in 2020, maybe it's OK?
I was thinking with a 0.1 increase from the 9 judges on Allen's LP marks, the 0.9 total may not have even have passed Annett in the LP, but it may have been enough to give her a greater raw total over Biellmann on 5 of the judge's cards.
Until 1980, the standings were based on the ordinals...
Just as an FYI - I spent 2+ weeks in Italy. Comparison and contrast is my thing.
One doesn't really tip there, but I found the service on par with what you would expect at an American restaurant. In fact, I found the wait staff's knowledge about the food to be better, but that could be unique...
I live in Miami. I notice there are more and more restaurants giving you a choice of 20%, 25% and 30% in gratuities.
Has anyone else noticed an uptick in the percentage for a gratuity?
