Tonya Harding landed a clean 3Axel+2toe in the SP and a clean 3Axel in the FP at the 1991 Skate America to defeat Kristi Yamaguchi in that event, so she is the first. I believe Alysa Liu has also completed a 3Axel in a SP and a 3Axel in the FP in the same event as well. Still, a wonderful...

Absolutely agree! Riley was one of the most wonderful, artistic and aesthetically beautiful gymnasts in US history. Unfortunately, she was elite during a period in time when that beauty was not rewarded due to the code she competed in. I would have loved to see her compete in Shannon Miller’s...

Also, she only walked away with Olympic silver on vault because Simone withdrew and Jade had her fluke trip in the vault finals. Biles and Carey had both made that final and Skinner only got her opportunity to medal because of Simone’s twisties and WD.

It is very unfortunate what happened to Shilese, Skye and Kayla. These women did not compete the AA at Trials, so how can you guarantee how they would have performed to take anyone’s spot on the team? In gymnastics, and sports in general, anything can happen. I’m not sure why you chose to...

Can’t debate a top 5 AA finish comprising the Olympic team. Congratulations, queens!

Ugh, if only Khoi Young had been able to compete like he is capable of. Stephen was selected only because of Young’s misfortunes on PH. :(

Yes, that is a very significant fact! She was also the champion on balance beam at that event and was the AA bronze medalist at that year’s Nationals.

Rivera may get the nod because she was the strongest at Nationals and is making a case for herself here too.

Roberson never actually competed at Worlds in the 3 up, 3 count format. Her injury occurred in warmup prior to the start of team finals, so she only competed FX and VT in qualifying. She finished 2nd to Tiana on BB at the 2023 Pan Ams.
