One year, Angela Nikodinov was an alternate for Worlds and went on a vacation with her parents and no one could find her to tell her enough people had withdrawn that she was needed to compete.
They monitor you for 24 hours when you hit your head. It's been a lot longer than that.
It depends on the skater(s) and artists. If an artist was a fan of a certain skater, I bet they could work something out. And if the skater is at the top, they could probably afford it like Kurt Browning did.
I have never, ever bought music because someone skated to it. 🤷
