I’m not sure if someone had posted a similar thread in the past, but has anyone read any really good books on the sport?
I enjoyed Johnny Weir’s “Welcome To My World,” Dorothy Hamill’s autobiography “A Skating Life,” and Dick Button’s “Push Dick’s Button.”
But I will always have a soft spot...
I’m not much of a “show off,” but I like the attention and reactions from non-serious skaters and those pushing EZ-walkers whenever I pull off a nice scratch spin.
Apart from that, I love watching the skaters have fun, as well as the booming music.
Two pairs of stretchy tights, two pairs of gloves, skate guards, skates (of course) towel (to wipe ice off boots and blades,) and a random “lucky” hockey puck I found on the ice years ago, which I keep in a side pocket.
I am attempting to re-learn my axel. I took a break from skating and am back in it again. It is frustrating to double-foot the landing. I hope to land one clean soon...
Here’s my list (forgive me if I’m a bit old school):
1. Tara Lipinski
2. Michelle Kwan
3. Scott Hamilton
4. Todd Eldredge
5. Alexei Yagudin
6. Sarah Hughes
7. Peggy Fleming
8. Dick Button
9. Alysa Liu
10.Nathan Chen
