U.S. Ladies [#29]: Skating with Adjusted Vision

With the competition so close, there should have been some kind of skate off for that last spot to worlds but the USFS has never had that kind of forethought when it comes to picking world teams. My thoughts after the fact here: Bradie: The US is lucky to have her. I like that she's exploring...

U.S. Ladies [#29]: Skating with Adjusted Vision

With Gracie skating well in the FS, I doubt it. Don't forget that was the year worlds were in Boston. The USFS wanted Gracie as champ and would have settled for Ashley; I seriously doubt Polina was anywhere on that list at all. She had strong consistency a lot of the time but she lacked that...

U.S. Ladies [#29]: Skating with Adjusted Vision

Speaking for myself personally, my grapes aren't sour. They're sweet and tangy. :p I'm not really stressing when it comes to the Americans. That's something the USFS needs to figure out, how to produce more competitive skaters. And the Canadians...ever since Kaetlyn Osmond left there has been...

U.S. Ladies [#29]: Skating with Adjusted Vision

I think the fact that Bradie lost to Mariah (who really wasn't all that great at SA) speaks volumes about where they are in the judges' eyes. I think it will be easier for Mariah to win this year than it would any other year so I hope she's able to seize the opportunity.

U.S. Ladies [#29]: Skating with Adjusted Vision

That's the main reason I started checking out the other disciplines last season. I've really fallen in love with ice dancing:love: I hate not really knowing exactly what to look for on the technical side but I find myself enjoying the performances 100% more than I enjoy watching the ladies. I...

U.S. Ladies [#29]: Skating with Adjusted Vision

The programs are pretty weak but I think if she can pull off a clean performance she'll get the title. The judges really wanted to give it to her last season but Alysa's technical content made it impossible.

U.S. Ladies [#29]: Skating with Adjusted Vision

I think a lot of us were spoiled by the longevity of skaters who competed for 10+ years at the elite level. Unfortunately, with the state of women's (or rather girls') skating nowadays, longevity isn't common and doesn't seem to be as important as it once was. It's all about win as much as you...

U.S. Ladies [#29]: Skating with Adjusted Vision

It's obvious Alysa is in a transition stage. She's going through puberty and trying to adjust to her new body. Everyone just needs to back off a little bit. It happens to all females--time will tell whether this is a death sentence for her career or just a speed bump. She has time. The...

    Is Michelle Kwan underrated

I had (and still have) the posters from Maxxis. They are in my closet but they were all over my dorm room when I was in college. My room was basically a shrine to Michelle Kwan and Kobe Bryant. I'm a huge Lakers fan (YAAAAY! We just won another title!:cheer2:), and a mega Kobe fan (my heart is...

    From Russia With Love [#38]: Fall/Winter 2020

Congrats to Sasha! She really doesn't look like she's lost a step. The rotation on the 3A is there--she's always backwards...before she falls I mean. Eventually she'll nail it. I see improvements in her delivery of the choreography. The changes are slight but she's taking a little more time...

Objectively speaking, who deserved to win the 2018 OGM?

And unfortunately that's really the deciding factor when you look at a situation where everyone skates well. Both Alina and Evgenia were very overscored in PCS next to Kaetlyn and Satoko as well. I haven't rewatched Satoko's performances yet but I already know that she'd come out higher in PCS...

Objectively speaking, who deserved to win the 2018 OGM?

Well nice to know my pointless rescoring has turned out to be useful. :D Here were my SP results: Osmond - 79.73 - 41.93 (TES) - 37.80 (PCS) Zagitova - 79.57 - 44.37 (TES) - 35.20 (PCS) Medvedeva - 77.20 - 41.00 (TES) - 36.20 (PCS) I had Osmond as the clear winner in PCS in this segment. Her...

    Medvedeva leaves Orser for Tutberidze

I thought her initial program was too far removed from her established style of skating. Nothing wrong with stepping outside of your style and trying something new, but there's a reason she decided to ditch that program and go with the Karenina program. That first one just didn't suit her. It...

    Medvedeva leaves Orser for Tutberidze

Agreed. When I decided to go back and score the top 3, Evgenia's FS really stood out as the best complete program for me. She was locked into character in her FS from the second the music started. She squeezed out every ounce of emotion/feeling/character she could in that performance. She was...

    Medvedeva leaves Orser for Tutberidze

Thanks! I have all of the info--just have to see if I have the time to put it together.:) Kaetlyn didn't get called for her flutz in the SP but received a "!" in the FS. She also stepped out of the jump in the FS which I think might have contributed to it. Evgenia didn't get called for hers in...
