Yes, exactly this, He doesn't care about another GPF title, he cares about the stuff that'll put him in the history books. A cleaan SP with a 4A and 4Z could be a record score that's hard for anyone else to touch (and even if the 4A isn't as valuable as it could be, it's about Doing It).

Agreed. I would be surprised if the numerical scores changed (because I cannot imagine they want to set that precendent), but even if they did, this is a "safe" comp to do it with, because no one is seriously arguing that the standings are wrong, or should be changed.

I agree with you about the choreo step call being outright wrong in a way that's damaging to the sport as a whole, but even that had happened before, to the Mrazeks once, and was largely ignored at the time.

This is why I'm so surprised they're doing a review! It immediately raises the question of why they are only reviewing this competition, and not everything else people think has ever been suspect in ice dance, which is, obviously, everything ever.

My first reaction is obviously that it's gonna be a purely superficial "ok guys we checked, it's fine, shut up", because changing the scores would be unprecedented, and cause endless drama, going forwards. But even just doing a review at all seems unprecedented. So, hmm. Interesting times.

Even if you were right, that is still ludicrous. Doing choreo within 2 metres of the boards is banned outside of a choreo step? What kind of ice dance programmes do you want to see in the future?
