"Legacy on Ice" benefit show in D.C. (March 2, 2025) and ways to help those affected by the air tragedy over the Potomac River

I have a program called PlayOn that will record streaming media and will save it on your hard drive. I recorded a ton of gym events from Paris last summer that way (like all of the RG, for example), all from the Peacock streams. I did record the LOI show, just haven't watched it yet...

U.S. Figure Skating confirms that athletes, coaches, and family members were on American Airlines Flight 5342 that crashed in D.C.

Something I read on the Newsweek website today. https://www.newsweek.com/i-was-supposed-1961-flight-crash-killing-us-skating-team-2025163

Rudy's LP from 1996 Nats is one of my favorite feel-good videos.

Just ran across this in chapter 3: Since everyone wants figure skating to he considered a "sport, " why can't skaters wear something skimpy as competitors do in swimming, where the costuming would make a G-string look fat? :D :D

Good riddance. And they can stop saying he "discovered" Nadia. He did not. Marcel Duncan was, in fact, her first coach.

Explaining it without the use of jargon would have been a real plus. No one knew what "twisties" meant, because it is gymnastics slang. Saying instead "she lost her sense of spatial awareness" and explaining what is spatial awareness and why it is important in this sport would have gone a long...

Dominique Moceanu loved trained with Alexandrov. She gives him the full credit of coaching her up to Olympic level. The Karolyis told him one day, just like that, not to come back to their gym. This was before the 1995 Nationals. Probably they were afraid that he would get all the credit for her...

Gymnastics #24 - The Road to Paris

I'm halfway through Dominique Moceanu's book, "Off Balance." Skinner really needs to read it. If she hasn't already. In Moceanu's case, they used their common heritage with her as a leverage, because she was being abused at home by her father when they claimed she wasn't working hard...
