Respectfully, mlp, maybe everyone else should stop their baseless speculation about the impact of the shut down unless they're willing to do the basic research about what is and isn't being affected. It's been going on for most of the past month and I'm insulted that the response from multiple...
Yes, he won SCI by 76 points but that's more a reflection of the skating from the rest of the field than Ilia blowing them away. If he'd been at NHK this week, he would have only won by about 48 points (and that's assuming he had the same completely clean tech panel review and huge GOEs that he...
That also doesn't mention any impact from the current government shut down which is the speculation that I'm challenging.
Last summer I did a bit of reading up on the processing times with USCIS and discovered that it varies quite a bit depending on which field office you're dealing with...
The line I have bolded is incorrect. I realize you're only quoting a news article but the reporter makes a statement that is NOT backed up within the quote they are using from the USCIS official who says "MAY also be delayed."
Again, this article was written at the beginning of the shutdown...
The two articles I linked about the State Dept's passport/visa agency, and all of the information I've seen about USCIS, indicate those agencies are still fully funded (by application & processing fees rather than Congressional appropriations) which would mean that workers at those agencies...
I get it, I just wanted to clear up some of the misinformed speculation that others have been making about what is and isn't shut down right now. FWIW, USCIS is also considered an essential service and continues to process immigration/citizenship applications as well as hold naturalization...
I realize this article is about a month old now, but...

Copying the relevant part of my post in the US Men's thread -
The official USFS/USOPC Selection criteria gives the Selection Committee pretty wide latitude once the Selection Pool is set. Here's who qualifies for the Selection Pool:
Top 5 from the Selection Pool Calculation Table
Top 5 from...
Yup. But their plan doesn't really box them in beyond determining WHO is in the Selection Pool once Nats is all said and done.
Top 5 from the Selection Pool Calculation Table
Top 5 from Nationals
Top 24 from Current Season World Rankings (we still have another 4 weeks of comps to go, but...
So, I was just looking over the USFS & USOPC's agreed upon selection policy for the 2026 Winter Olympics and I wanted to bring this particular section into this thread for clarification purposes:

Tiles for the Jr & Sr Men & Women at Eastern Sectionals as well as the SkAm Practice Cams are up on Peacock. No tiles yet for the SkAm competition segments yet though.
I don't have a problem with same-sex partnerships in either dance or pairs, but I guess what I find troubling is if trying to open the sport up more is being used as an excuse to further reduce the importance or necessity of the pattern dances. I don't see any reason why you can't just...
LOL - Oh, I've seen the scores. They tell a story alright, lol. Neither are making a compelling case for that third spot with only 4 weeks of competitions left in the fall season.
