    Fall 2024-Summer 2025 New/Returning/Streaming/TV Shows

I am, but I'm only on episode 4. Now I'm wondering what's coming!

U.S. Cardinal Robert Prevost is Pope Leo XIV (Pope Francis has passed away)

I don't speak any Italian at all, and even I can understand a reasonable amount of this!

2024/2025 CBC Streaming & TV Schedule

I'm sure this is a stupid question, but has anyone figured out how to access the previously-recorded coverage (e.g. of the women's short program) through the Gem tv app? I'm trying to avoid the CBC website because it's always full of spoilers, and I would also prefer to watch on my tv rather...

2025 Skate Canada Int'l in Saskatchewan & 2026 Canadians in Gatineau QC

I literally just had a conversation with a friend who was surprised that I didn't go to Nationals this year, and I said Montreal was farther than I wanted to drive (especially in the winter), but I would have gone if it had been just a tiny bit closer, like Ottawa or Gatineau. I guess Skate...

    Fall-Winter 2024/25 Ice Shows, Benefits & Tours

I was there too, with my mom! I had the same thought about Jeremy's first program - I was surprised to see him do something that was so comedic in nature, but he did a great job with it. (For those who haven't seen it, he was kind of a doll/mannequin come to life. He really got into it, and...

Movies to Watch on a "Sick Day"

I loved this show, and was in the middle of watching it a few years ago when it disappeared from Netflix in Canada. But I just googled it and it looks like it's now available on a different (free!) streaming service, so now I know what I'm watching when I get home from work tonight! :cheer2:

Movies to Watch on a "Sick Day"

Whenever I stayed home sick from school as a pre-teen, I would always watch Home Alone (because I was also "home alone"). It's still my favourite childhood movie; I basically have the whole thing memorized!

2024–25 Canadian Women: News and Updates

It's completely bananas to think that she actually finished in next-to-last place at Challenge in 2020! Her improvement since then is astounding!

I am so thrilled for Medland-Spence! Seeing that SP result just made my day. (And of course I immediately thought of @danafan :) )

2024–25 Canadian Women: News and Updates

I finally got around to watching Shiryaeva's programs from the Denis Ten Memorial. Wow! She's like a completely different skater from last season. She still has a ways to go in terms of presentation, particularly not looking down at the ice so much, but she's definitely making much more of an...

    Canadian figure skating

Same! As much as I love Montreal, I don't think I have it in me to do Montreal/Laval in January. March was bad enough!

2024 World Figure Skating Championships in Montreal

I wonder how strict they'll be about making sure people sit in their assigned seats? My section looks almost totally empty - all of FSU can come hang out with me, and we can probably move down several rows closer to the ice. :shuffle:

2024 World Figure Skating Championships in Montreal

My credit is supposed to be for $95, but when I redeem it it's only giving me $75. Once I get that sorted out, I'll book the Saturday morning one too!

2024 World Figure Skating Championships in Montreal

Back in 2020, I think a few of us had booked a food & walking tour with this company: https://localfoodtours.com/montreal/our-tours/ For those of us who had a ticket back then, the credit should still be valid (I just checked mine). Once the detailed competition/practice schedule is...

2024 World Figure Skating Championships in Montreal

Ha, I'm staying there too! I stayed there with my parents on a family vacation when I was a teenager, so I decided to book it for Worlds. The rates were pretty reasonable back in the summer when I reserved my room; not sure what they're like now. I got a weekly rate of $139/night.
