I don't think they politicked for anybody, not even for Satoko. If they had, Satoko would have placed higher at last year's Worlds. I expect that to change with Marin.

Satoko Miyahara's days aren't numbered. Even if the federation will start promoting and pushing a new star skater (not like they aren't doing it already), Miyahara will have the same nerves of steel she's had since she was a junior. Something not many athletes have.
