He's engaged since year or two ago, his IG account has some engagement photos. No wedding pics, so apparently not yet.

That FS was ace 🤯 probably the best free skate I have seen from Finnish women. Both of her programs are also pretty and entertaining.

The Dance Hall 13: When You Dance on the Ice and Your Feet Twizzle Twice, That's Amore

Which part...? :) T/V rhythm dance looks pretty good, at least by the standards of the season.

:( Unfortunate, but hardly surprising. This season was a struggle and things surely weren't going to get easier. Her soft, feminine style was a rarity in Finnish skating scene, and sorely missed.

Alas, unless they bring in medals (preferably Olympic), figure skaters are likely to remain fairly obscure in public consciousness. For average man of the street, 'figure skater' means Kiira Korpi, or perhaps Rahkamo/Kokko for older generations.

    2025 ISU World Synchronised Skating Championships - Helsinki - 4th & 5th April

Icebear -account has published quite a bunch of fairly good quality audience videos from the performances: World synchro 25 Sound sometimes cuts off though, apparently due to audience noise.

    2025 ISU World Synchronised Skating Championships - Helsinki - 4th & 5th April

Wow, didn't know rink situation is that dire there. Scandinavia has it easy, as public ice halls are usually built to support local ice hockey team, and then they are only too happy to accommodate other ice sports to maintain utilization for that expensive investment. I just learnt that Finland...

    2025 ISU World Synchronised Skating Championships - Helsinki - 4th & 5th April

I don't really know much of this discipline (either), this was second World Champs I watched. Compared to last year, Finnish teams looked faster and more precise. They were clearly ahead in the game to other teams, with only Haydenettes somewhat managing to achieve same level. Other North...

There's accelerated process for 'special cases' (I suppose: famous athletes) but even that takes months. It would be so much easier in Qatar! I'm sure it would be even harder for Juho to get Japanese citizenship. It probably has been simplified since then, but I read memoirs of an European who...

Bureaucratic processing time, Finland is not one of those countries where you get citizenship just by landing a thick wad of bills on the desk. I guess she didn't want to start the process before it was certain Finland gets two Olympic spots? Also she has to take language fluency test, this...

Maybe we can appeal to Celine to have it copyright blocked

? My nightmare is that somebody tries this - "Hey, 'My Heart Will Go On' is a nineties song, lets go with that!"

No, at least no such pair which would not have same citizenship issue.

The Dance Hall 12: Boston Tea Dance Party

Finnish teams in Tallinn were probably buoyed by effectively home crowd - Helsinki is only a short ferry trip away. That said, I do think both teams performed better in Tallinn than in the Worlds, especially PiriHara. And if we're talking about anomalous scores, FearGib got effectively same FD...
