And lastly, here are some compulsory dances that I'm not very familiar with at all as I've neither practiced them myself nor have I studied them in any real careful way.
Midnight Blues (below are G&G, B&A, and N&K from the 2005 Worlds - I think I like N&K the best of the three)...

Not a fan of this team but...
Yes, was going to use this one for the Killian. That crossed open choctaw was brilliant. OTOH, K&P's crossed open choctaw in the same dance looked very shallow to me. IIRC, I think the British judge had K&P in fourth for that CD and I can actually kind of understand why.
B&B also had a...
I like D&S's first pattern of their tango. I wasn't as impressed with their second pattern though. I could understand either V&M or D&S in first place for the Tango Romantica in Vancouver.

Seeing VGThuy's thread about Ice Dancing to the Rhythm inspired me to start a similar thread but specifically with the compulsory dances. So if you were asked to provide a textbook example (or even just personal favourite example) of a compulsory dance or short dance or rhythm dance, which ones...
For tango, I neglected to mention Punsulan & Swallow's excellent FD from 1998. I thought they should've been 3rd in Nagano behind G&P and A&P. And 2nd at Worlds behind A&P.

Folk dance
Klimova & Ponomarenko - 1987 Worlds FD (the music is Hungarian Rhapsody so I guess this would count as a Hungarian folk dance?)

Arguably their best free dance although I personally preferred Memorial Requiem. I love how they used their powerful running edges to...
Their performance at Worlds was a bit better than their Olympic performance IMO but this was still pretty good. I also had them in third for this OD in Albertville.

On a completely different note, these days I would actually rank Grishuk & Platov in...
Here are my picks although some of these are repeats. I'll just go with the single-themed dances for now.
