New York Times is reporting that several members of the figure skating community were on the plane. They were attending a camp for top skaters according to NYT. I thought of Nationals. The AA plane was flying from Wichita to DC.

Carolla, I totally agree about St Louis prices. I haven’t been to a Nationals in a very long time. I think it will be a fun event right before the Olympics. But between the tickets, hotel and flight, I thought the same thing. I can go to Europe instead.

Watching last night, it was disappointing to see the arena half empty for the pairs short and even the women’s short had many empty seats. How can figure skating attract a younger audience? I hate that Prevagen is the title sponsor and many of the other sponsors are geared towards old people...

No, if I’m recalling correctly I could only pick a section and not a specific seat. It did tell me the seat before I made the purchase with my cc but if I had refused I would have been back in the queue to start over. This was the very first hour of the presale.

That is sad and shocking news. RIP Susan. I was a subscriber for many years until about a year ago. I still always checked the IFS website for links, schedules for competitions. I will miss it and miss her!

I have been surprised watching yesterday and today that there are so many empty seats at the SAP Center.

I had tickets in 2020 and hope to go in 2024 but will wait on buying tickets. Last time I tried to buy the all event ticket on the first day right when sales opened, 9 a.m., and I still could not get anything better than the $1246 U.S. tickets and they were not really great seats. Much later...

I’m glad that you stated this thread. I also wonder about the difficulty of getting tickets given the popularity of skating in Japan.
