    2025 Grand Prix Assignments

I think the best thing any fan of Amber's could do to help her this season would be to stop making predictions and allow her to sneak in under the radar.

I haven't read/seen all of the commentary from Papadakis, so I can't speak to further reasoning for the "asshole" part. (Which isn't to say that the abortion story isn't enough of a reason; but I do get the feeling fans have read more). As for the arrogance, I mean, he did ask for this. You...

I know. But again, they gave Lauriault citizenship with basically nothing but a qualification. (Lauriault & Le Gac had a 21st place finish at Worlds the season before and an 8th place at Junior Worlds + 5th at the JGPF two seasons before). I know L&LG got married so I assume it's not the same...

    2025 Grand Prix Assignments

If they were a Babs team, she'd have them doing two Challengers along with a full GP every season. It's ice dance. That discipline that was like a really big deal in Albertville. With the Duchesnays. There was an Olympic broadcasting puff piece about what a big deal it was, with CBS...

    2025 Grand Prix Assignments

The Shibs, Sui & Han, Alysa Liu, Wakaba Higuchi, Jason Brown, Deanna Stellato . . . :swoon: This is not the lineup, I think, many of us would have predicted at the end of the last Olympics. I love it. I am only sad about no Yelim Kim. On dance: Also, I'll just point out that Chock & Bates...

Russian Skaters Allowed to Compete as Neutrals (AIN) to Qualify for 2026 Winter Olympics

If the bots are busy, then the Russian government is feeling compelled to spend money defending its stupidity. Too bad, so sad.

Regardless of what I think of Chock and Bates, that comment by Bazin is such classic Russian politicking, I have to . Throw out your team's name, compare them to some team that is so far above them that they aren't even in the same conversation, and try to get them in the same...

The Dance Hall 12: Boston Tea Dance Party

I think it's impossible that the Russian Fed, especially, doesn't know what the first ban was about. The fact that the explanation for that was never released does make it awfully hard to give both the Russian Fed and Stepanova & Bukin the benefit of the doubt now.

It's possible that Gummenik is so unscary that no one reported his pro-Russian anything to the powers-that-be:shuffle:.

The Olympics is held without them. Same as would have happened if no one had said anything.

Popping into the fray to say that I've liked Eva Bernard ever since her previous partner. I hope she continues and finds a kindred ice-dance partner. Also I don't think there is any such thing as a one-sided partner split. There is mostly just such as a thing as the...

Russian Skaters Allowed to Compete as Neutrals (AIN) to Qualify for 2026 Winter Olympics

Oh, also I don't think Russia made an error in whoever they submitted for dance or pairs. I'm sure they submitted who they wanted to, and if they did not submit someone, they intended not to submit them.

Russian Skaters Allowed to Compete as Neutrals (AIN) to Qualify for 2026 Winter Olympics

I quite like Petrosian. She was my favorite Russian junior the last season I watched the Russian athletes--prior to Russia's invasion of Ukraine. (She was not with Eteri then? I thought she was?) But as the Russian doping issue has not been dealt with seriously, anything she wins--and I don't...

    2025-26 Grand Prix Assignments Discussion

This is one of those seasons when the host countries for top dance teams will circle the wagons. They can't control the depth of the events their top teams will face away from home so they will control the depth at home. (Sometimes this means inviting more than one top team home, which usually...
